Lebron James. From 2011-2020, he made 9 finals appearances. He led the Cavaliers against the 73-9 Warriors from being down 3-1 in finals. The only time it ever happened in the finals. In 2018, he led a trash roster to the finals. That 2018 Cavaliers team were a lottery team without him. Not to mention playing on an MVP level since 2006. Probably one of the most durable athletes of all time. He's still in his prime. Rafael Nadal's dominance at the French Open. Since 2005, he has won the title 13 times. That's unreal. Durability, sure. But he’s a big guy in a soft, 3 point shooting league. If you told me, “Okay, you have ONE NBA finals series. It’s a 7 game series. You can either have Prime Larry Bird (1981-1986) completely healthy or LeBron James as my forward. I’d choose Bird in a heartbeat. Not even hesitate. Because I know without a shadow of a doubt if the game is on the line... Bird will come through. LeBron would probably pass it or fold under pressure (at least half the time) ... Bird in his prime and healthy never would.

Even after 18 seasons the guy hasn't missed a step. He's still playing at the highest level.

Well, LeBron ain’t going into the paint and meeting 7 ft, 300 lbs monsters who would closeline him and bust his nose. I at least give MJ credit. He did his amazing acrobatics in the paint against Prime Shaq, Hakeem, Ewing, Mutumbo, Barkley, David Robinson, Karl Malone etc... real big centers who beat you up. Larry went up against people who would punch you in the face. Go watch YouTube videos about Birds toughness and tell me LeBron could last 18 years in that NBA... Bird fracturing his face and going back in to the game to score 30 points. Laying in a body cast for 4 hours before a game just so he can walk and play. Nowadays, if you flick LeBrons ear, he’d fall over and flop. Then get 2 free throws.

I can't say about something that's completely hypothetical. We'll never know how James would have performed had he played in the 1980s and 1990s. Like I said, it's all hypothetical. This is such a pointless argument.

Usain Bolt at the Olympics 2008-16.
Bolt is the only sprinter to win 100 m and 200 m titles in consecutive Olympics. He also won gold in 4 x 100 relay during that stretch.

Poor perception and poor wording on my part. I was thinking of the topic as 'which single athlete had the most do any stretch?'
