Just occasionally, a British actor comes along who I'll watch in anything ... James Mason, Alec Guinness, Donald Pleasence, Malcolm McDowell, Robin Askwith, Ralph Fiennes ... and no doubt, I look out for the work of Chiwetel Ejiofor nowadays, as he always works with filmmakers I find interesting.
In Ejiofor's rolling Q & A for 'The Guardian' conducted in 2019, I was reminded of the gifted boy from Forest Gate, London, which has been ranked one of the 5 most violent districts in the capital. He's all personality, and with a killer smile to boot.

It’s funny to know that I used to live a good half hour’s walk away from Arnie (Google Maps is useful for this sort of thing). I’ll have to find out whereabouts Chiwetel Ejiofor’s childhood house was now.

I’ll have to find out whereabouts Chiwetel Ejiofor’s childhood house was now. Word. He is doing his best for the London theatre scene, but the current pandemic makes things a bit trickier.

Chiwetel Ejiofor's sister is journalist Zain Asher. She works at CNN with journalist Kate Bolduan who's the same age as her (they were born less than a month apart in 1983). Asher speaks 5 languages.
Here's a clip of Asher reporting on her big brother receiving an Academy Award nomination for his work on Steve McQueen's historical drama '12 Years A Slave' (2013).
