"State of the pitch" Will be the most said thing by the commentators during FGR's match this weekend. Called the Severnside derby, although not quite a local derby. It's a short trip across the river for the vegans. Newport are up there in the mix at the top of the table, so an away win for us would be grand. We don't play until Sunday this weekend, so you get to enjoy some other more trivial football this Saturday... All eyes on Cambridge United, and Cheltenham Town. No points for either would be most welcome. KO 1pm  |

It's matchday lads ⚽ Yesterday's results saw a win for Cambridge. We could use the 3 points today to reel them back in, and increase our lead over the chasing pack. Win, lose, or draw today though, and we remain in 2nd place. It's not absolutely essential that we win today, but it would be nice to break through the 50 points total. 'MON THE VEGANS 💚🖤  |

Decent point, it's a tight division and you have 3 in hand and all the top 10 can make automatic. Will be an interesting run in, Carlisle's games in hand could also be interesting.

That's all from an exciting day at Rodney Parade... Except the highlights package, which I will post when it's available later on Monday.
Apart from that, we've all got just enough time for a nice cup of tea and a sit down, before we go again on Wednesday, when we welcome Southend United to The New Lawn.
Keep yer eye on League 2 on Tuesday evening as well... Cambridge United play Cheltenham Town. 1st vs 3rd, with FGR 2nd between the two.
