But if they or Washington were to move back or a team in the second round moved up, I could buy that (although I think it would be Davis Mills). To get that fifth year for a quarterback is huge. Both Teddy Bridgewater and Lamar Jackson were trade ups to 32 to get that extra year (plus to do it before teams can think about it too long before day two of the draft.

I’m planning on posting a first round mock draft sometime in the next week or so, I’ll have to do a bit more research, and I won’t incorporate potential trades into my mock draft, even though for example I believe the Falcons will trade the #4 pick, but I’m looking forward to posting it, I haven’t done it before.

They can be fun and annoying at the same time. But its also a nice way of familiarizing yourself with a bunch of these players.

I do those constantly for fun. I use Fanspeak as well because you can choose whose draft rankings to use. Some of them are beyond realistic though. My only complaint with PFF's is that the trade system is kind of broken. I wish I could pause the draft and look who is available before I trade. Ideally you know who it is you're trading up for but sometimes you could have missed something.

So I THINK I have my 3 round mock draft finished. I will wait a bit to post it in case something drastic changes between now and next week.
I put my first 2 rounds into the PFF mock draft simulator and controlled all the teams for the 3rd round to make it go quicker. It may have taken longer honestly. I like that site because the grades they give after are fun. So I got grades for every team. Here is a sneak peak.
Highest Grade: New England Patriots A+
Lowest Grade: New York Giants/Carolina Panthers B-

In Bob McGinn's poll of draft evaluators, Ja'marr Chase got the first unanimous #1 ranking for wide receivers since Calvin Johnson.

Chiefs traded 31 and more to Ravens for Orlando Brown.
The Ravens acquire three picks in next week's draft -- a first-rounder (No. 31 overall), a third-rounder (No. 94) and a fourth-rounder (No. 136) -- as well as a fifth-round selection in 2022.
The Chiefs get a starting left tackle in Brown along with Baltimore's second-round pick in 2021 (No. 58 overall) and a sixth-rounder in 2022.

The Athletic had an "Ultimate Draft Bust" article, worst pick by round. Five of the first six are QB's
1st - jaMarcus Russell 2nd - Ryan Leaf 3rd - Akili Smith 4th - Art Schlichter 5th - Justin Blackmon - WR 6th - Rich Campbell
other QB's
10th - Josh Rosen 16th - Dan McGwire 22nd - Johnny Football 24th - Todd Marinovich
A lot of the others I've forgotten. Wendell Bryant/DT/2002 from Wisconsin, picked by the Cardinals. Who? To be honest, I forgot about Rich Campbell and Dan McGwire (did he just get picked because of his big brother?). Some had issues, Reggie Rogers (killed three kids in a DUI crash), Rae Carruth, Gabe Rivera.

He had like 3 zillion yards passing at Oregon. Not so much in the NFL.

But he’s Frogs’ favorite player, he can’t be a bust!

I treat that night like Thanksgiving. Tacos, chili, nachos, wings, mozzarella sticks, onion rings, cinnamon rolls. Ill be in a food coma by the time the Packers pick.

I'd like the Patriots to land Trey Lance, though I doubt without a big move up. I'd also like Justin Fields, & yet I'm not holding my breath there either.
So yeah - I'll post something again once they trade back.

I know the Chiefs are playing for the now as long as Mahomes can walk, but the Ravens feeding that machine? Not sure, did the Colts ever trade with the Patriots? lols
