From off another board comes this example of an Day Age Creationist with his own spin on things. [Text combined]
Why indeed, .. except that Jesus would have no inherited characteristics as the purported Son of God of course. I don't think I have come across the idea of there literally being two creations before in this detailed way. The mention of DNA arose since I at one point raised the existence of a 'Mitochondrial ' Adam and Eve, who geneticists believe were, in matrilineal and patrilineal terms the most recent common ancestor (MRCA) of all living humans - although there were most unlikely to have ever lived at the same time. My own view is that the two versions of the creation in Genesis is more easily explained by, as scholars now think, the fact of two authors with two intentions when writing up the myth. What both my interlocutor here and I agree on is that the two versions are distinct in their literary style and sometimes contradict each other. However his eccentric view would only make sense if the two accounts did not both give details of the entire creation each time, despite any differences. Interestingly, by design or accident he seems to have, kind of, got the timings right for the emergence of modern humans, at least from the view point of the last direct ancestor genetic thread still standing. Recent research suggests M-Adam lived between 120,000 and 156,000 years ago. A comparable analysis of the same mtDNA sequences ALSO suggested that M-Eve lived between 99,000 and 148,000 years ago.
Next up: flying saucers and demons.
I completely understand science and evolution [sic]. God’s creation through evolution and in the immediate are two sides of the same coin that make us who we are...
... Homo Sapiens were created by God through an evolutionary process and developed different “races” on the 6th “day” in the 1st chapter of Genesis (approximately 250,000 years ago). In contrast, Adam & Eve were Beings without a “race” that were created by God after the 7th “day” in the 2nd chapter of Genesis (approximately 6,000 years ago). No incest was needed. The children of Adam & Eve intermarried the Homo Sapiens that resided outside The Garden of Eden. The hybrid offspring were Modern Humans. This is how their son Cain was able to find a wife in the Land of Nod in Genesis chapter 4, verses 16-17. Modern Humans inherited a “race” from their Homo Sapiens ancestry, and a “soul” from their Adam & Eve ancestry.
Genesis chapter 1 discusses creation (through evolution) that occurred outside The Garden of Eden. Genesis chapter 2 discusses creation (in the immediate) associated with The Garden of Eden.
The Heavens (including the proto-sun, stars, and other planets) and the Earth were created by God on the 1st “day.” (from the being of time to approximately 4.54 billion years ago). However, the Earth and the celestial bodies were not how we see them today.
The Earth’s water was terraformed by God on the 2nd “day” (The Earth was covered with water approximately 3.8 billion years ago).
On the third “day,” land continents were created by God (approximately 3.2 billion years ago), and the first plants evolved (approximately 1 billion years ago).
By the fourth “day,” the plants had converted the carbon dioxide and a thicker atmosphere to oxygen. There was also an expansion of the Sun that brightened it during the day and provided greater illumination of the Moon at night. The expansion of the Sun also changed the zone of habitability in our solar system, and destroyed the atmosphere of the planet Venus (approximately 600 million years ago.) As a result; the Sun, Moon, and stars became visible from the Earth as we see them today and were made.
Dinosaurs were created by God through the evolutionary process after fish, but before birds on the 5th “day” in the 1st chapter of Genesis. By the end of the 5th “day,” dinosaurs had already become extinct (approximately 65 million years ago).
Most land mammals, and the hominids were created by God through the evolutionary process on the 6th “day” in the 1st chapter of Genesis. By the end of the 6th “day,” Neanderthals were extinct (approximately 40,000 thousand years ago). Only Homo Sapiens (that had interbred with Neanderthals) remained, and became known as “man.”
Adam was a genetically engineered “Being” that was created by God with a “soul.” However, Adam (and later Eve) was not created in the immediate and placed in a protected Garden of Eden until after the 7th “day” in the 2nd chapter of Genesis (approximately 6,000 years ago).
When Adam an Eve sinned and were forced to leave their special embassy, their children (including Cain and Seth) intermarried the Homo Sapiens (or first gentiles) that resided outside the Garden of Eden (i.e. in the Land of Nod).
The offspring of Adam and Eve’s children and the Homo Sapiens were the first Modern Humans. As such, Modern Humans are actually hybrids of God’s creation through evolution and in the immediate.
Keep in mind that to an immortal being such as God, a “day” (or actually “Yom” in Hebrew) is relative when speaking of time. In addition, an intelligent design built through evolution or in the immediate is seen of little difference to God....
There wouldn’t be any Homo Sapiens DNA passed from Adam and Eve’s children to their offspring because they did not have any. They only passed on “souls” to their offspring. The DNA of the offspring would only be that of the Homo Sapiens spouse.
This example may better explain. Jesus is the son of God. However, God does not have Homo Sapiens DNA. Therefore, Jesus’s Homo Sapiens DNA only came from his mother, Mary. Although it is not as popular of an interpretation, the the Bible does support two separate creations. “People” (Homo Sapiens) were created in the Genesis chapter 1, verse 27. This occurs prior to the creation of Adam in Genesis chapter 2, verse 7...

In Genesis chapter 1, the male and female (Homo Sapiens) are created together and instructed to be fruitful and multiply. In Genesis chapter 2, Adam is created first by himself. How would Adam be fruitful and multiply? Adam is different from what God created in Genesis 1, verse 27; because Adam is placed in God’s embassy on Earth, The Garden of Eden.
Whether are not the two creation stories were written separately and by different authors is not the point. Through providence, the two creation stories were meant to become part of the same book to complete the true interpretation. The concept of Original Sin is only carried by the descendants of Adam. The descendants of Adam replaced the original Homo Sapiens over time. Christ’s arrival was so planned that anyone that heard the story of Jesus would be both a descendant of Adam, and could accept the salvation of Christ.
Being created in the “image” (which is not defined) of God does not equal being created in the same composition. There is no reference to DNA in the scripture. DNA is associated with Homo Sapiens, and God is immortal. Why would God have or need DNA?
