I don´t know who would´ve been better, but he wasn´t a good choice.
I have no problem with a Millennial Lex.
A Mark Zuckerberg type, with social awkwardness and a tech giant. That’s just 2021.
I think the issue people have is that he is just playing evil Jesse Eisenberg. You also raised another problem in that he actually plays Mark Zuckerberg in a different movie. If the movie wasn't already ridiculous, he would have been very distracting.

There is actually a much better choice right in the same movie. Richard E. Grant.
Winona Ryder was kinda bad in that too. And although I didn't see it, I suspect she was a misfit for Little Women too. I bet brits were raging at that one.

She is excellent in Little Women and the movie takes place in the U.S.

Yeah, Costner is actually a good Robin Hood. He captured the spirit of the character. He just needed to to that generic “historical accent” you know, like Joaquin Phoenix in Gladiator or the soldiers in 300. He couldn’t do a British accent.
The issue with Costner in the movie has less to do with the accent itself and more to do with the inconsistency. Half the time he forgets to even do the accent.
I read an article once where people didn’t have the heart to tel him how bad his English accent was. Finally the Director “Kevin Reynolds” (his long time friend) said “look, your accent is shit. It would be better if you just drop it completely and don’t do an accent.” So it wasn’t that he forgot to do it, they just didn’t go back and reshoot the shots he was using the bad accent.

It’s funny, I’ve always thought Eisenberg’s Luthor was one of the best things about the overstuffed but intriguing BvS, and I don’t mind Kate Bosworth in Returns. Yes, she’s too young, and, yes, Parker Posey or (interesting suggestion) Rashida Jones would better fit the Reeve-series mood they were going for, but I think Bosworth gets the character.
The season come again for winter’s tales, I tell you one which my nurse told to me As watched I warily the swirling snows. “I’ll raise one up,” she swore, “of ghosts by night…”

The drugs you brought that led you to think Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor was one of the best things of anything I believe everyone on this forum would like to know what they are.
I remember there was outrage when Zoe Saldana was cast as Nina Simone in the biopic Nina. Uzo Aduba would have been the better choice given her complexion was more closer to Simone's than Saldana.
Vince Vaughn as Norman Bates in the Psycho remake was just wrong. Viggo Mortensen would have been better rather than being cast as Sam Loomis, but in complete honesty, the remake should have been made.
John Wayne as Genghis Khan in The Conqueror was a terrible choice. Sessue Hayakawa would have been better.
It's hard to take Denise Richards as seriously as a nuclear physicist in The World is Not Enough. I don't know who have been better around that time, but the role needed an actress with more gravitas.
Denise Richards was not bad in the role and I feel she did have gravitas. I think it's you who needs to unplug yourself from what you think a nuclear physicist looks like and sounds like in that head of yours.
No, Archelaus is absolutely 100% right and they're not the only one who thinks so. On the other hand, you're the only person I've EVER heard defend that poor casting decision. EVER! I think YOU need some unplugging! lol

Denise Richards fulfilled her job as a Bond girl that's all that matters. or don't you know what a Bond girl is?

Anne Hathaway as Catwoman in TDKR. Talia al Ghul was played by Marion Cotillard who has always been my dream casting for Catwoman. I wish they had given her the role instead.

Everyone and their mother knows what a Bond girl. But some of them have stretched the suspension of disbelief. This one more than most. Or don't you know what suspension of disbelief is?

A young American woman as a nuclear physicist is not stretching disbelief lol.
