No she doesn't look like the character. She's African and black like the character but that's not the same thing. The animated version of the 90s? She looked like that. She talked the same way too. If she was good enough for David Bowie, she's good enough for movie audiences.
Would you prefer Grace Jones?

Another woman who would've eaten Charles Xavier whole? No thanks. Halle was likeable and had commercial appeal. Neither Iman or Grace Jones are likeable or relatable in any way.

Any actor for Robocop after Robocop 2 as the track record has been poor with Robert Burke, Page Fletcher and Joel Kinnamen were quite dismal playing Robocop as Burke sounded too slow as he did a mechanical performance with no emotion, Page Fletcher was robo-runt as he was too short for the role and Joel Kinnamen was unlikable as he proved no emotions and a lame performance.
Richard Eden in the TV show is the closet thing but can't compare to Peter Weller in the first 2 movies as he proved the part because of his charisma, talent and his performance even showing emotional range outside the helmet. No one else is Robocop other than Peter Weller as Weller made the character who he is.
Jackie Earl Haley as Freddy Krueger! look, he's a damn good actor even as Rorschach from Watchmen and so on. But his Freddy Krueger sucked as his Freddy looks like a fish and wasn't scary, intimidating and lacked soul and charisma and had a laughable voice that was a southern hick voice that sounded like Rorscach meets Sling Blade (same hum too like Carl in Sling Blade). Sorry, can't do it! Robert Englund is the one and only true Freddy Krueger, accept no one else.

If you don't like her then fine-but someone a little more non-American would have made more sense. Or at least stronger in personality.
Actually that's the same thing I had with Magneto is that I assumed he would have a central European accent-but ok, McKellan is fine. But I don't think Berry was good choice for that role. She doesn't convey the idea that she has the power to control weather. I can see her stuffing the passenger list in the magazines rack though...

Chloe Moretz - Carrie. Better: any talented young actress not getting cast for movie roles in 2013 because she's not a conventionally pretty blonde girl. Benedict Cumberbatch - Khan. Better: Javier Bardem? Naveen Andrews? Matthew Goode - Ozymandias. Better: Brad Pitt? Matt Damon? On the flip side, I don't think there has ever been a BETTER bit of casting than Sissy Spacek in the original "Carrie". Sissy was born to play that part.

Aloof and being a teacher helping and mentoring shy young mutant children in a school for mutants are two personality traits that don't work together which is why Storm's original writers were maybe a bit stupid when it came to her personality when they should've made her a super villain instead. Iman isn't attractive either.

I don't see much resemblance between the two. They both have thin lips. That's about it. I miss Margot Kidder.

You recommended David Bowie's ugly wife for the role of Storm in a big budget franchise I already knew you skipped serious town sometime ago.

I was responding to the fact that someone else also thought Imam looked more like the comic book character than Berry did.
I am not the only one!

Iman's forehead begs to differ. Storm is an attractive black woman with white hair in the comics not a malnourished Sudanese refugee.

Her line delivery about the toad and lightning was memorable for the wrong reasons.

"I had with Magneto is that I assumed he would have a central European accent-but ok" That was the same issue I had with Hannibal Lector, he's supposed to be Lithuanian, but literally every version of him has been played by someone with a British accent...

Oh shit. How did we go through this whole thread and not mention Jai Courtney as Kyle Reese?

Brad Pitt - Troy. He's adequate, but he looks more like a California surfer than a Greek warrior and has an inconsistent British accent.
