From what I can gather, my live action favorites have already been mentioned by others, so I'll inject some animation into this topic. My favorite from this year is The Brave Little Toaster. And just so I don't get roasted by the elite animation snobs, yes, I've seen Laughter and Grief By The White Sea.

I was only 3 at the time, so too young for most of the above films during their original run, but watched them growing up. Bizarrely enough, The Princess Bride was the only one I didn't catch until my 30s.

Looks like you had a great time at the cinema back in '87 so. I was only 3 at the time, so too young for most of the above films during their original run, but watched them growing up. Bizarrely enough, The Princess Bride was the only one I didn't catch until my 30s. I wonder how much different my views and taste in movies might had changed, if I had seen all those violent and exlplosive films, at such an young age, then again, getting to seem at the cinemas would be impossible, as I was 2-3 years old, and even if I had been a few years older, they would never have let such a young moviegoer inside, even with a parent in Norway. Yeah, I did not catch The Princess Bride until just a few years ago (summer of 2017), so I guess I have missed out on a few 80s gems, which I am kind of glad I have, since if I had watched absolutele "everyhing and all" from that decade, that would kind of be a bit of a bummer, as I love the feeling of still having so much to discover, of unseen potential favorites, some probably well known too many, other, maybe not so much.
