Evangelical preachers have for years declared that tornados (which mostly hit the Bible Belt), Hurricanes, and Earthquakes are punishment from their god for gay rights and women's rights (using the code of abortion). But they have been strangely silent about the natural disaster that has afflicted Texas with the cold, the power outages, and the sufferings they brought.
Could their god be punishing them for voting for Ted Cruz? For not protecting their citizens right from the start of the COVID pandemic because of support for the Former President? Was is just because everyone in the Republican Party are such assholes? Because they love themselves but hate their neighbors?
Listen, I am talking about the place where I was born (Midland, a contemporary of GeeDubya - he was at Houston Elementary when I was at Crockett), and mostly grew up (from the 4th grade in the beautiful city of San Antonio), but have lived away from for half my life so far and am not there now. I have been a Right-Wing Watcher from early adolescence, starting with my parents, so have always had, I believe, an insight into the conservative consciousness of the state.

I've not seen any speculation as of yet, but will stay tuned. I did read one article where an evangelical leader said that Trump didn't get re-elected because God got tired of Trump taking the credit and not giving it to God. Not sure what state he was from.

Thought I had seen something about that one but had to look it up. The televangelist is Frank Amedia who once claimed that his prayers helped a baby grow 1.5 kidneys and that voting for Democrats means we’ll be having sex with cows. With his wife Lorilee, he is co-pastor of Touch Heaven Ministries in Canfield, Ohio. According to the site The Friendly Atheist, Amedia finally accepted Pres. Biden’s win by blaming the Former President for taking all the “glory” of his accomplishments and “not being sufficiently deferential to the Christian God.” From TFA: “These brainwashed people will never just admit Trump lost because the majority of voters just had enough of his bullshit — including many Christians who were fed up with the obvious hypocrisy of the Republican Party.”

Does no one have any critical thinking skills at all anymore? It's hard to believe in a just god when certain people aren't incinerated by lightning. And God could have done that to Trump. A statement that could not be ignored. Zap him when his golf club was raised in the air... Oh, but maybe God just wanted Trump humiliated, and He will keep Trump alive for a really long time to experience the most humiliation possible. And then toss him into eternal hell fire... Do people really believe that there is a Creator of Everything who would even stop to notice Trump? Humans seem to think that the universe revolves around us when in reality, the universe is probably barely aware of us. I guess this is kind off where my doubts started; why would the God who created a universe care to interact with me as an individual? Do humans really think that this is all about us? All I know for sure right now is that it is time for supper, I'm hungry.
