Be Well My Good Man!
Continue to be kind to all!
You'll be back soon... It's nearly the feast day of St Patrick. You like a good gab about that π

Who are you gonna miss the most, Dorothy? The Scarecrow, Tin Man, or Lion?

Not any of the Leprechaun sequels? Or Disney channel's Luck of the Irish?

Not any of the Leprechaun sequels? Or Disney channel's Luck of the Irish? Or The Hallow, Shrooms, and a pretty good low budget Irish haunted house film I watched a few years ago but can't for the life of me remember what it was called.

For such a low score - I loved it

I kinda liked A Hole in the Ground. Not great but decent enough. For Irish horror/comedies Grabbers is a pretty good time. Very silly. And Extra Ordinary was pretty fun. Also silly but with extremely dry delivery.

For such a low score - I loved it I thought it was pretty terrible. There was also another rip off of the same kinda thing called Red Clover. The 'official' sorta reboot/sequel thing they did (albeit without Warwick Davis) in the vain Halloween 2018 (though they couldn't get their famous leading lady to come back in this case) was called Leprechaun Returns, and for how cheap and amateurish it was the movie ended being a fair bit of fun. And the new guy, while not as good as Warwick, does a fairly decent job.

You gotta love the depiction of Irish folk as some kind of backwards hillbillies, that live wild, scavenging roadkill and berries to survive π
Think that was to play to the American audience, who have that image of the Irish π€·ββοΈ

But we've seen the other movies like Grabbers that confirm that they're all a bunch of charming drunks in small seaside towns.

I will recommend you an Irish film, that surprisingly for me isn't Horror, nor is it a kid's film with animals... Calvary (2014)

I will recommend you an Irish film, that surprisingly for me isn't Horror, nor is it a kid's film with animals... Calvary (2014) I really liked that film. It sure does play up on that small seaside town charming drunk stereotype, so I could see why some Irish folk roll their eyes at it, but I think it's a strong piece of work and Brendan Gleeson is excellent as always. Not sure the mystery of it is entirely mysterious, but I like the way it played out and I think the approach works. It also sort of breaks the rules of screenwriting in a way by presenting the central dilemma before properly introducing the characters, which is something I appreciated. I thought of The Proposition in that aspect as well. Shocking that you expanded beyond the horror realm or Air Bud franchise, so that's nice to see. It also has a very conflicted view of the church, and I imagine that's tough for some church folk.

Calvary (2014) Shocking that you expanded beyond the horror realm or Air Bud franchise, so that's nice to see. I only watched it once, about five years ago. Probably the last non-horror/kids animal film I watched. I don't make a habit of watching that kind of ting π€¨
