www.yahoo.com/entertainment/frasier-revival-officially-greenlit-kelsey-222502804.htmlI love Frasier, but I can't say I'm excited for it. The show had its day, and if we're being honest, should have ended the first time around Season 8. That's not to say it can't possibly be good or entertaining now in this revival. But I have to admit I'm not all that crazy about this trend of reviving old TV shows. Feels like a desperate attempt to relive the past and/glory days of a show. Or to put it another way, a famous athlete trying to make a comeback even though they're way past their prime.

I would be fine with a one of movie, but i don`t really see the point with a new season.
And unless all the stars David Hyde Pierce, Jane Leeves and Peri Gilpin also returns, i doubt i will watch it
And as you i am also not a fan the trend of reviving old tv shows.

Well I suppose it could do well . The Golden Girls and Hot In Cleveland were very popular shows . All the actors are much older now and when Frasier was on , they were heading to middle age then . I thought with Kelsey in the twilight of his years , he should stick to character Dad roles , crab-apple misers or embittered politicians or CEO's .
Who's going to be in the series ? Who's going to replace Martin ? Of course Martin is gone , but Frasier is going to need a (Freudian) replacement isn't he (maybe Donnie) ? And one of the shows themes was Frasier's 'Unlucky In Love' storyline . Maybe his Ex , has become a communal retreat mother , and his son a new-age counsellor ? What about the return of Maris as the Madonna of the Sinaloa Cartel after her time in the Big house . Dear Roz will certainly be back as the Producer of Sex In The City At Night Show , but needs Frasier's help .

You do know that 3 of the 4 Golden girls have been dead for over 10 years right ?

Yeah, I love Frasier, but I’m not excited for this at all—especially as David Hyde Pierce said he isn’t coming back and, of course, in light of John Mahoney’s death. And even if Pierce (and Jane Leeves and Peri Gilpin) come back, I have no interest in the people Grammer has hired as showrunners. For God’s sake, get Joe Keenan or someone who knows how to write farce. Oh, and I’m not getting Paramountflix—or any other streamer. I’m done with them. Spooky Ghost Ackbar knows why.

I would much rather have an XMEN spinoff show where he’s playing Beast.

Frasier had an advantage of coming out right after Cheers ended which gave it a good lead-in. This new Frasier is coming out 17 years after the original Frasier ended.

Frasier is my all-time favourite sitcom so unless I am in prison or in the space station or dead I will be watching it as soon as it comes out – although of course if Niles and Daphne are not in the picture I will be bracing for disappointment.

If any of the other characters like Niles and Daphne appear, it would probably be in an episode or two as a guest role. I don't expect David Hyde Pierce and/or Jane Leeves to be full-time cast members if they do the show at all.

I've seen a few episodes of Frasier over the years. It seems like the core fans aren't too excited for this revival. I may check it out though just out of curiosity. I like old school sitcoms. Multi-cam ones are a dying bread. I try to support any new one that comes along (even if it isn't exactly new).
