I have to say, this is a pretty good show. They just ditched the Arrowverse Lois and Clark and just used the same actors, but put them into a serious drama. Not that corny crap like Flash and Batgirl.
Notice “Walker” and “Superman & Lois” are the two highest rated shows on the CW in the past 5 years.
Even higher ratings than that Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover crap...
Why? They cast the characters correctly. They didn’t just recast the characters with different genders or ethnicity, or sexual orientation just because. Like, they didn’t cast a black Superman, or a multiracial Lois, or a non-binary gender kid etc... just do do it. Same with Walker.
People like things to be the way they should .
Look, if they remade “Shaft”, I wouldn’t want to see a white guy or woman play the part. If they made a movie about Moses, I wouldn’t want to see an Asian guy play Moses. That wouldn’t make sense.
If you want to make a lesbian hero, make a brand new character. Or a Trans superhero, great. Make a new one. Start from scratch.

Did you give a rusty fuck when they cast Christian Bale as Moses?

Did you give a rusty fuck when they cast Christian Bale as Moses? I did actually. I was on the old IMDB and I used to talk about how stupid this was.

If you want to invent an LBGTQ+ superhero, great. I support it. But don’t turn traditional characters into new things. Make new things for a new generation.

Or Pa Kent a Randian objectivist? Those are reinterpreting characters and making them new things, so why draw the line at sucking dick?

What do you think happened when he took his powers away and threw him down the fortress of solitude. Batman killed lots of henchmen in the Tim Burton Batman films. I think Jimmy Olsen was well done. He’s a photographer for the Daily Planet, but the twist is he is actually an undercover CIA agent. Still a photographer with Lois on that mission. Pa Kent, what was wrong with him?

Superman II and especially the Tim Burton films are also reinterpretations of the characters. They existed for decades before those adaptations. So let's say before Superman threw Zod down the shaft in Superman II, he played with Zod's actual shaft and took a load to the face. Would you then be okay with new versions of Superman being giant cumsluts because Superman II did it? Or let's use the Jimmy Olsen logic. Let's say Batman found himself in a Cruising-type situation where he had to go undercover as Matches Malone in gay bars, and he got really method actor sucking and fucking all over Gotham. Because Batman was merely undercover, is that okay too? I've never seen a version of Pa Kent where he advocates for letting children die and Clark's self-interest above all else.

Jonathan didn’t tell him to let them die. He says, “maybe” because even he doesn’t know what he should have done. “There is more at stake here.” You’re trying to be intelligent, but you’re just diverting the actual subject to side rants that suit your argument. You know what I mean. I want traditional casting. So stop trying to outsmart randos on a message board. You’re not very good at it anyway.

Not that any argument that includes the word "cumslut" is a high stab at intelligence, but it is interesting you couldn't answer even these rudimentary softballs. I'm not trying to outsmart you - I know you read philosophy - I'm just trying to understand your logic here. Why is CIA agent okay and gay not? Or crazed murderer okay but gay not? Fine, Jonathan Kent was *agnostic* about letting children die. That's still not really befitting the character. Why do you stan so hard for Snyder's alterations but lose it whenever anything "woke" comes in? Genuine curiosity.

Did you give a rusty fuck when they cast Christian Bale as Moses? What is wrong with casting Christian Bale as Moses? All we know about Moses is that, if he even existed, he was Jewish. I know lots of Jews, and all of them have the same skin colour as Christian Bale.

Moses passed as an Ancient Egyptian for 40 years. In the movie particularly, everyone believes he's the son of this guy: God in the Old Testament even makes a big dog and pony show out of turning Moses's hand white for a second, which would be pretty unimpressive if Moses was already white.

I liked the pilot very much.
It follows in the tradition of most of the Superman (and Superboy and Supergirl) shows and movies that preceded it, but with the new family twist.
It also feels a lot like Smallville Part II or Smallville Jr., but in a good way and with Superman.
And Tyler Hoechlin's Superman ranks right up there with Kirk Alyn, George Reeves, Christopher Reeve, John Haymes Newton, Gerard Christopher, and Dean Cain.
Hoechlin is far more appealing as Superman than Brandon Routh or Henry Cavill were.
And that's not Routh's or Cavill's faults. The problems with their Supermen were because of the misbegotten creative directions of those projects.
Routh was forced to be a carbon copy of Christopher Reeve, and that's never a good move to try to mimic an icon.
Cavill's portrayal of Superman was fine in Man of Steel, but the character's direction took a turn for the worse in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League with the ill-advised and poorly executed death of Superman storyline.
Hoechlin's Superman suit is also a modern interpretation that hems very closely to the classic design, unlike the costuming misfires in Superman Returns and the Man of Steel movies.
And Elizabeth Tulloch looks a lot like Margot Kidder, and that's definitely not a bad thing.
I'll be sticking with this one for a while.
