I'd want it that way honestly.

Every time someone talks about the sequels now, I keep getting reminded of what an unholy mess the whole thing was.

Daisy Ridley's said a lot of things. Initially that she thought it was obvious from TFA who her parents were. Then that they had toyed with making Rey a Kenobi. And now that she was told she was a nobody right up until TROS! LOL.

This is the sort of thing that makes me laugh, because it's like really you loved how this nobody was more powerful and skilled than the 1000 other force users before her who all trained for atleast a decade or more and went through countless trials to become so powerful all oh whom but fucking 2 came from nothing, Luke and Anakin are the only "special" force users, well 4 with Leia and Kylo in the ST, but every other fucker was a nobody so why does this one character being like everyone else except she's got Matrix style skill download abilities somehow make you love her?
Same thing when people jerk off to the end of Last Jedi how Broom boy made it seem like anyone can have the force....that is established in the PT, in Clone Wars and Rebels, it's nothing new so why do you get a stiffy over that in this one movie?
Just say you thought Rey was cooler when she was a nobody, thats fair, she was, I prefer randomly powerful Rey to Palpatines clone's offspring as the reason as to why she's so powerful in all honesty.

The writers were always free to do what they wanted under Kennedy's leadership as long as they did not let Luke steal too much spotlight.
