Hugh Jackman has been so iconic in the role, but he is getting too old at this point to keep playing him. Dunno who should replace him.

If he was younger that would be a good choice, at 43 you can only get so much mileage out him though. Hugh Jackman started in 2000 when he was 32 and ended in 2017 when he was nearly 50. Nearly 20 years!

Dacre Montgomery if we’re looking for a mildly younger version. He can play a good a-hole too.

Logan Marshall-Green. He played the Shocker that got disintegrated in Spider-Man: Homecoming but I really dug him in Upgrade. Would like to see him take on the role.

It’s easy to forget, but Wolverine in the comics is supposed to be a short and scruffy dude with a weird haircut. He’s not exactly what most would describe as “handsome.”

Bob Hoskins? I've seen Wolverine in the comics and he is nowhere near ugly enough to have been played by Bob Hoskins even if he wasn't originally written to be a heartthrob in the comics.

Hugh Jackman has been so iconic in the role, but he is getting too old at this point to keep playing him. Dunno who should replace him. If Harrison Ford isn't too old to keep playing the roles people are giving them, then Jackman isn't too old to play Wolverine.

Actually my reply to Sostie on this thread when I said Bob Hoskins was too ugly to play Wolverine was a bit harsh I can sort of understand him playing Wolverine in an early 80s made X-Men film but that's about it.

Wolverine was always more short and less athletic looking than Jackman. I think Clearmont saw him in a particular film and thought he showed the right level of anger/rage/menace, something Hoskins could certainly do. And just found an online interview with Clearmont
