This board is so dead. But we should at least have a thread for this new show.

I liked the pilot very much.
It follows in the tradition of most of the Superman (and Superboy and Supergirl) shows and movies that preceded it, but with the new family twist.
It also feels a lot like Smallville Part II or Smallville Jr., but in a good way and with Superman.
And Tyler Hoechlin's Superman ranks right up there with Kirk Alyn, George Reeves, Christopher Reeve, John Haymes Newton, Gerard Christopher, and Dean Cain.
Hoechlin is far more appealing as Superman than Brandon Routh or Henry Cavill were.
And that's not Routh's or Cavill's faults. The problems with their Supermen were because of the misbegotten creative directions of those projects.
Routh was forced to be a carbon copy of Christopher Reeve, and that's never a good move to try to mimic an icon.
Cavill's portrayal of Superman was fine in Man of Steel, but the character's direction took a turn for the worse in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League with the ill-advised and poorly executed death of Superman storyline.
Hoechlin's Superman suit is also a modern interpretation that hems very closely to the classic design, unlike the costuming misfires in Superman Returns and the Man of Steel movies.
And Elizabeth Tulloch looks a lot like Margot Kidder, and that's definitely not a bad thing.
I'll be sticking with this one for a while.

I would have preferred it that Clark and Lois did not have kids.

The superhero stuff is pretty good so far but I'm already sick of those brats screaming and complaining all the time.

I would have preferred it that Clark and Lois did not have kids. I totally understand where you're coming from. But without the family angle, this would be just another Superman show and probably not as good. But to each his/her/their own!

The superhero stuff is pretty good so far but I'm already sick of those brats screaming and complaining all the time. I agree with you on the superhero stuff -- it's classic Superman. And the flying sequences are definitely reminiscent of the Christopher Reeve movies more than anything else. As for the brats, yes brats are as brats do, and brats will be brats. But I'm totally digging the family angle. It's a challenge to play a superhero, a husband, and/or a father, and Tyler Hoechlin is doing all three perfectly so far. Elizabeth Tullock is doing a pretty good job also of playing a reporter, a wife, and a mother.

I'm enjoying it quite a bit. I look forward to the new episode every week. I'm probably in the minority, but I think the family stuff is the most interesting. I almost don't even need the Superman action.

I think i could be more open to the family angel if the kids where not such annoying brats, it drags down my enjoyment of the show.

I really dig the hsow it's my fav of the CW shows at present, also only Jordan is really a brat, and he's easing up on that now, Jonathan though seems like a really good brother and son, outside of being upset over learning on their own their dad is Superman he's not really been a brat, closest since was him telling Jordan off for being one in episode 2, which hey someone needed to pull that kids head out of his butt.
But I am loving the Superman stuff, I really enjoy the Clark and Lois relationship also, it's really a highlight of the shows I watch each week...too bad it's going on like a 2 month hiatus after the next episode, and in it's place we get Supergirl...yay?

I am enjoying the show so far with the exception of two things. There is a major plothole in the show with Maxwell Lord and you may have forgotten but Maxwell Lord was in Season 3 of 'Supergirl' played by a different actor and he was a known criminal who got arrested near the end of the series for trying to kill Lena Luthor and poisoning children and trying to blame Lena for it too and how he is walking free now and Superman and Lois don't know he is a criminal makes no sense since this is supposed to be set in the same continuity of the other Arrowverse. I am not a fan of having Lex Luthor as the main villain of yet another Superman even if he is a Lex Luthor from another earth where Superman is a villain and I would have preferred to have seen Lobo, Braniac, Darksied, Imperiex, Atomic Skull or Mongul but we will probably see them in future seasons.
I am looking forward to seeing how it crosses over with the other shows with its serious tone. Superman and Lois was supposed to have crossovers this season with 'Supergirl', 'The Flash' and 'Batwoman' and there was also going to be another big crossover event which was believed to bring Stargirl into the Arrowverse but they were cancelled due to the Coronavirus but some will still happen next season and Diggle is set to appear in all the Arrowverse shows this season including 'Superman and Lois' and 'Batwoman' and I think he is going to become the Arrowverse's Green Lantern. Next season's big crossover event will most likely have Braniac or Darkseid as the big villain and see Stargirl meet the other superheroes.

I think you mean Morgan Edge, Maxwell Lord was in S1 of Supergirl iirc, Edge was in S2 I think, but remember Crisis changed a lot of things, like Lex's this time is seen as a hero not a villain, so Edge may never had grown the cajones to try and flex on Lena and get himself in trouble that way, it also doubled and aged up Lois and Clark's offspring after as well, so changing Edge up is not that big a deal, they did the same to Sam Lane also iirc so yeah these are just due to Crisis I guess, it will be interesting to see how this connects with the other shows as so far it's pretty separate, has it even addressed the other shows as of yet? As for Lex I am thinking this version will eventually see the difference between this Clark and the Kal-El he knew, atleast I hope he does.

Wasn't Maxwell Lord the villain in Wonder Woman 1984?

You should be more considerate of other posters and use the standard font and colour.
