...in their own continuity. For example, the series "St. Elsewhere" ended with a revelation that the entire series (and other series it had crossed-over with?) had been dreamed up by an autistic child. "Dallas" had an entire season turn out to be a remarkably detailed dream when Patrick Duffy decided to return to the show after having been killed off. Other examples of this?

The entirety of Newhart, the series, was revealed to be a dream by Bob Hartley, Bob Newhart's character in the 1970s The Bob Newhart Show.

When Roseanne came back they brought back John Goodman's character who died Roseanne is like Inception at this point. The original finale revealed the entire show had been a book Roseanne Connor had been writing based on her life, but with a lot of made up and changed stuff (so in reality Dan had died, the daughters had dated opposite brothers, they'd never won the lottery, etc). The revival then pulls a double-it didn't happen by saying that the book twist was just for the book and the show did happen...except for winning the lottery, which puts us at at least 3 timelines.

The ending of the last episode of X-Files season 10 was clumsily written out of continuity, another "it was only a dream" thing.

The ending of the last episode of X-Files season 10 was clumsily written out of continuity, another "it was only a dream" thing. The mythology episodes of the revival make the Super Soldier arc of season 8 and 9 brilliant... I still can't believe that Chris Carter thought retconning the mythology was a good idea.

When My Three Sons lost a biological son and a fake one took his place. Hereโs Ernie Thompson slowly taking over the family. Note the fear in Mike Gradyโs eyes. Mission complete. Meet Ernie Grady. Iโm assuming Bub had to be knocked off because he knew too much. Same thing happened on Bonanza.
