As usual, the movies glorifying control freaks, psychopaths, demons, and warlocks gets the most praise from the bubble boys of IMDB. The results of this poll so far are close to opposite of what mature, sane, streetwise people would pick.
What a bunch of Beavis and Buttheads this site has.
My picks: The Lion in Winter True Grit The Swimmer
My fourth would probably be "Z", but I didn't get to see more than half of it. It will be a while before I probably do see it all the way through. It certainly had potential from what I saw.

Mature people wouldn't insult other peopls's tastes. Your unprovoked rudeness is starting to get on my nerves. But yes, I am a somewhat emotionally disturbed person of average intelligence and I do live in a "bubble" of sorts becasue my depression and anxiety disorders don't allow me to get out much. These are the subjects I am drawn too. I find the dark side of humanity much more interesting than the good side becasue I relate to it more. I see the world as a mostly disgusting place filled with hypocrites and selfishness. Maybe you should just stay away from my polls. I'd rather you not be part of them anyway if all you are going to do is insult people you have no understanding of.

I know movieman would be heart-broken if I did not butt in with my additional picks. Battle of Britain (1969) Guy Hamilton Bullitt (1968) Peter Yates If... (1968) Lindsay Anderson Je t'aime, je t'aime (1968) Alain Resnais Kes (1969) Ken Loach L'Armée des Ombres (1969) Jean-Pierre Melville Le Boucher (1969) Claude Chabrol Les Biches (1968) Claude Chabrol Ma Nuit Chez Maud (1969) Éric Rohmer Teorema (1968) Pier Paolo Pasolini The Damned (1969) Luchino Visconti The Italian Job (1969) Peter Collinson The Unfaithful Wife (1969) Claude Chabrol Witchfinder General (1968) Michael Reeves My picks from movieman's list were: Once Upon a Time in the West Hour of the Wolf The Birthday Party Z I would like to watch The Swimmer again. I might appreciate it more after a 48 year gap. It was certainly a brave effort for a Hollywood movie. Two which are not my cup of tea (English idiom) but I am extremely surprised no-one else has mentioned are: Romeo and Juliet (1968) Franco Zeffirelli The Thomas Crown Affair (1968) Norman Jewison

I can understand your feelings for NOTLD (some people just can't get into it) but hating The Odd Couple ?? Man, can't wrap my brain around that...Walter and Jack are pure gold whenever they are together...
