Hey, hey! My big floppin' scotum is not going anywhere near you or anyone else on the forum! Your mistake is certainly forgiven though. Ahhhhh.... so you admit that you do have a big floppin' scrotum! Very interesting.

That Tina boat scene also gave Lorraine Gary some good moments when she has to take her out of the hull. Sh-sh-sh-sh-sh-sh-shaaaaarkk. I also like the marine biologist. She could have stayed on--she was interesting. I like the marine biologist, too. Collin Wilcox was a good actress.

Oh yeah Andy... but Marge is still the winner among the non-Tina choices. Ann Dusenberry should have had a better career. She was considered for Laurie Strode--the other was Anne Lockhart. I have only seen Jackie(?) in one other thing that I remember-- Klaus Kinski's daughter in a film. Ann Dusenberry would have been a good enough choice as Laurie Strode. She had the right look for it and enough acting talent. In fact, I think she is probably a better actress than JLC. Of course, looking back on everything now, nobody could have been more right for this role than Jamie Lee Curtis herself. "I wish I had you all alone. To myself. Just the two of us." That was a cool piece of trivia. I thought I knew almost everything there was to know about "Halloween", before and after. Guess not! Thanks, Prime!

I pondered this when I first heard this trivia because I can certainly see Dusenberry as Laurie Strode and doing a good job. I checked out an Anne Lockhart movie--an obscure one from the time because I had forgotten her--she was in Battlestar Galactica. I am thinking she could have played the scared mousey teenager well, but would have been unable to connect with the kids--the comic book scene. I could see Dusenberry better at that and obviously being effectively scared. But JLC had a tomboy quality which I think gave the part a kind of realism and Dusenberry may have been too glamorous. Because the closet scene--JLC is really good there--I think that's the signature scene in the movie where she is trapped and uses the coat hanger.

I agree. Curtis is really good there. Totally believable. Also, Jamie's LS had a slight underdog quality that works very well in the movie. Maybe that's kind of what you were saying when you cited Ann's higher "glamour" quotient.

In the tv-movie The Possessed she has a down-to-earth quality but she isn't quirky like JLC--and the comic book scene where she's talking to the kid about his comics--that is also a good scene for JLC because it shows how well she connects with the kids on their level. I am not sure AD would have been as good there. She was playing the co-ed having an affair with Harrison Ford -I cant picture JLC in that role.
