Here's a game for anyone who wants an end to City's run. Somehow, though, you haven't got much confidence in Solsjkaer to be the one to do it. But after the earlier result, who knows?
Man City: Ederson, Joao Cancelo, Dias, Stones, Zinchenko, Gundogan, Rodri, De Bruyne, Mahrez, Gabriel Jesus, Sterling. Subs: Walker, Aguero, Steffen, Laporte, Bernardo Silva, Torres, Mendy, Fernandinho, Foden.
Man Utd: Henderson, Wan Bissaka, Lindelof, Maguire, Shaw, McTominay, Fred, James, Bruno Fernandes, Rashford, Martial. Subs: Bailly, Greenwood, Grant, Diallo, Alex Telles, Matic, Williams, Tuanzebe, Shoretire
City 4/9 Utd 6/1 Draw 3/1

Huh? Nothing-one on '2. Fernandes sends one past Ederson who just couldn't get a good hand on it. City trapped in their own half these first five minutes.

Sterling goes down in the box with Fred involved. Did Fred get the ball? Did he get anything on Sterling? No pitchside monitor for the ref as he waves Sterling to his feet as City begin to get their share of the proceedings nearing the half-hour mark. Now the ref tells Luke Shaw to get up. Shaw sat down on the pitch looking for attention. "Get off the pitch," says ref Taylor. He's having none of it today. Shaw gets up and carries on.

City are favourites to win this, even now at half an hour in - 6/4 playing 7/4. They have assumed 70% of possession. But United has the goal.

De Bruyne, who is starting at last to get fired up, sees his free-kick tipped over by Henderson just before the break.
But Fernandes' 2nd minute penalty after Martial went down under Jesus is the difference at half time.
No breakthrough for City and they go in now as outsiders at 2/1 for the game, 6/4 the visitors.

And it's teed up for a cracking 2nd half too as a Shaw-Rashford combo concludes with the former easing the shot past Ederson for 0-2.

'79 and Walker plays a neat ball to Sterling to tap in from four yards out for 1-2. But Sterling, attempting the clever volley, misfires and the ball bounces mischievously and deliciously between his legs and away. That was enjoyable.

Well, United may have only had 8 shots to City's 21 but 6 of those have been on target to City's 5. You have to say that Solsjkaer has done on a pretty good number on Guardiola here. City has not had a bad day at the office - they've had nearly two thirds of possession. The board says 5 minutes of added time.

United has won the Derby at The Ethiad, City undone by some tight strategic play, closing down De Bruyne, Wan Bissaka doing the bizzo on Sterling and keeping a clean sheet to boot.

Cracking game, cracking result. Still can’t see City losing it from here, but they could’ve won it here.Saw it last night, on replay. So knowing the score kind of "ruined" the fun, but yeah, surely a very enjoyable and thrilling game of football. Yeah, they had their fair share of chances, but then again, if only Manchester United had a lethal goal machine in front (oh, how I wish Haaland would end up at Old Trafford), as all those wasted chances by Martial (should have been 3-0 up before final time) would most likely have killed off the game. If Solskjaer and United can stand firm, maybe close down the gap (no way in hell City will loose the lead completely) and maintain a certain hunger and passion for at least going for the second place, and maybe adding some potential success in either of their remaining cups, it will surely be a very pleasant season, one which I do hope is backed up, with pushing forward for a solid upgrade when it comes to the attackers, as well as tying up the far too shaky and nervous defence, but who was brilliant last night. Anyway, City has been fantastic as of lately, 21 wins out of a total of 21 games (in all competition) but to see them finally get beaten on their home turf (by a team who has not yet lost, in 22 of their last away games in the league), and after all the smug talk, about how superior and unbeatable they were supposed to be, is now all of a sudden turned into a "what if they end up bricking it, yet again, when coming up against teams who does not play the way Pep wants them to do, during the final stages of Champions League? Would be lovely, if they ended up suddenly getting a few bad results, and the pressure starts getting to them, the coming weeks. But all I care about now, is that Ole and his men, continues to deliver these kind of great team performances, hopefully a bit more frequently, especially against those, who they are supposed to be beating, far more "easily". But I guess this young team, is still not there, yet. But damn, Luke Shaw, what a player, the combination and skills between him and Dean Henderson, kind of reminded me of some of those ridiculous long and powerful throws/counter attacks by Peter Schmeichel during the 90s, and also a certain Denis Irwin "flair" to the elegant run and finish by Shaw as well. Lovely stuff. But I guess as usual, everybody will talk about Bruno, and the penalty situation, sadly. Just hope Luke stays fit, no more injuries and just keep on doing what he does best. City however, will probably regret that they did not start earlier, with Foden, who seemed to bring with him, a much bigger goal threat, than what Sterling or Jesus ever came close to, well beside handing Martial and United a penlty early on. Also love how Scott McTominay and Fred continues to do well in these big matches, as well as Daniel James, who were flying at times, and never gave City much time to breathe out and take and a break. Sure, these players would most likely never come close of being among the first 11 players on the sheet of Pep and City, but Ole and his coaching staff, seems to bring out the best in them, and hopefully this hunger and desire might motivate a few others, to boost up their game and attitude, as the games come rapidly now, with league, cup and also, I think the international break very soon.
