Not me personally, but I once overheard a clerk at Best Buy telling an elderly couple that movies on Fullscreen were better than Widescreen because you get the entire picture.

The entire sub versus dub debate which apparently is mostly an issue for people who watch anime.

The entire sub versus dub debate which apparently is mostly an issue for people who watch anime. I’ve found I don’t mind either way...but I don’t like to switch. I become accustomed to the voice actors for either so if I have to switch from dub to sub halfway through a series I get a little annoyed.

Not necessarily anything that somebody "told" me per se, but I have heard people say that they cannot/will not watch a movie if it's black and white. Uggghhh...

Older movies are better than newer movies, superhero movie oversaturation, CGI not looking real when hello it's not meant to be, the term "cashgrab" when referring to blockbuster sequels is as dunce as it gets all movies are made for profit.

The Exorcist is the scariest movie ever made I mean I think it's up there. Maybe not the scariest, but I don't think it's a dumb opinion to have.

Black and white movies are boring because they are black and white
A movie is outdated that makes it bad.
Newer movies are automatically better than older movies, or older movies are automatically better than newer movies.

That everyone has to watch a movie because someone didn't want to watch the movie. Also along this line, is the control freak who demands that someone not have the right to dislike a movie because the movie was depressing or hateful or inspires hate. There are even control freaks who demand you like movies that preach and praise genocide. "Hate mongering movies" are big with control freaks, just as "allegedly censored movies" are. The logic fails, since the movie obviously isn't censored if it's showing.
This happens too often. It's been an obvious ruse by movie makers to try to say their film was "censored" just to get the control freaks out there to force their group to watch the movie. It's always been a favorite gimmick for the control freaks of a group to demand everyone watch a movie because someone didn't want to watch the movie. Or because the

This doesn’t fit the subject of the thread exactly but I think it’s close enough. I was doing a job at this company once and during a break a group of guys started talking about their favourite comedies. They all brought up these silly comedies with Adam Sandler and Jim Carrey, that kind of thing – movies that you’d have to PAY ME to watch. So I kept my mouth shut. Then one of the guys noticed that I hadn’t said anything and asked me “you don’t like movies?”. I felt like saying “I love movies, I probably go to the movies more often than all of you combined, I just don’t like stupid comedies” – but of course I didn’t. I don’t remember how I actually replied.

Some troll on the old IMDb who said that people only watch foreign films because Hollywood films aren't good enough as though that's the only possible reason. Oh, that was a favorite snark remark on IMDb. Apparently the only possible reason anyone watched foreign films, if you followed the conventional wisdom of that forum, was because they were stuck-up snobs who wanted to impress others with how much more intelligent they were than all the everyday Joes who watched Hollywood product. According to these beanbrains, no one ever watched foreign films because they actually, er, preferred them or enjoyed them. Just another hindsight reason for not regretting the demise of the old IMDb forums quite so much...
