In the 1998 movie Pleasantville, Reese Witherspoon's character decides at the end to stay in Pleasantville, saying she'd have a better life in Fifties America than she would in the 1990s real world. She even mentions her grades in the real world means she has no chance of university, unlike the Pleasantville Fifties America.
Would any poster here prefer the world of an old classic sitcom to live in?

1950s sitcom world - Yes, easily
1960s sitcom world - Quite possibly
1970s sitcom world - If it's US sitcoms then maybe, if it's UK sitcoms then no way
1980s sitcom world - see above
1990s sitcom world - see above

I would absolutely love to live in Are You Being Served?'s sitcom reality, working at Grace Bros.

Fuck no I would not want to go back in time. I want to go to the future.

I would choose to live in Gunsmoke.
Or Deadwood.
I want to be a Cowboy, an outlaw.
I was raised in the hills with horses and stuff, where I learned to be strong and I learned to be tough, I don't mind the city because I went to school there but they've got their own problems and I don't really care, I'm a cowboy.

As I've posted before, I would like to live in the Gilligan's Island world.
I feel like I'd have a good chance of boinking Ginger and Mary Ann. If that failed, I'd take a shot at Lovey.

Emily Schulman is only three years older than me so Christy. Not Small Wonder though.

Sometimes, when watch children's shows with my niece and nephew, like Mickey Mouse Clubhouse or the like, I think there's a level of absurd simplicity that would be interesting to experience as reality; the laws of physics are more permeable, social constructs are fundamentally different. You can literally do anything. Although the blurred lines between pets/livestock and sentient beings is a bit questionable.

Depends on the sitcom and time period it is in.

Also would there be a "the rest of the world" in the sitcom to visit or would there only be what we see on-screen?

It would have to depend on the show. I always wondered what it'd be like to live in the brady bunch universe as a teenager.

I'd live in The Andy Griffith Show but I'd miss the internet and tacos too much, so no.

If I could just visit one of the sit-com worlds, then I'd like to spend oh, about a week in the Full House universe. I've always wondered what it would be like to live in San Francisco...and I sure couldn't afford it in real life!

Why just sitcoms? No hour long shows or movies?
