instead of cling and plastic wraps?
America's Test Kitchen, did a YouTube video on alternative storage systems, and cooking items, that won't pack vast areas of land fill
One was a reusable, washable paper/cloth (??), that has bee's wax applied to it. The warmth of your hand molds the surface to the rim of bowls/vessels. And, it "breathes," unlike plastic.
I don't think that it's reusable forever. But, all of the materials are natural and biodegradable. I might try it. I have tried that stuff that looks like bright colored 'Silly Putty," and is supposed to stretch thin over bowls, but it was worthless. It didn't stay in place and/or it broke where it was stretched too thin.
The brand that they mentioned in the video was "Abeego," but I think there are other companies that have it.

Yes, I've tried it. It tends to "break/flake" at the folds. If it starts to lose wax you can rewax it by grating a candle and putting it on top and melting it in a low oven.
They are quite bendy, but I use an elastic to keep them in place as well. Rinse them off with a sponge and lukewarm water.

Thanks for the report, and the tip on re-waxing and holding it in place. I'm going to try it!

We got it and use it all the time. We haven't had the issue of it flaking and it's incredibly useful. It's funny, when you start using re-usable things like that (bees wrap, reusable grocery bags, reusable dry cleaning bags), you really get amazed at just how much stuff gets tossed in the trash after a single use. Every little bit helps.

Never heard of it and I don't think I've seen it here. Sounds like something I'd like to try though.
