W.T.F.? Don't these people know, that this isn't just about Stonehenge being built with Bluestones?
Isn't Stonehenge supposed to be a solar calendar of somekind too?... If you move Stonehenge, then the engineering workings of the ancient calendar gets totally destroyed, and it becomes totally pointless.
And isn't this whole idea of moving it, disrespectful to the ancient builders who designed it, quarried the stones, moved them 175-miles across the rugged landscape, and built the complex?
It's like saying, let's move the pyramids of Eqypt... It's morally absurd.

I hadn't the foggiest idea that this was such a divisive issue between the English and Welsh.

Ridiculous. The people that moved them from their original placement in Wales were probably those that put them there in the first place. That far back in time there was no Wales or England and the people were almost certainly of the same genetic stock, so they wouldn't have moved them unless their 'gods' or 'priests' or whatever told them to.

No worries. I've actually got an updated calendar on my phone.

Returned to Wales ?
I was not aware that Stonehenge was originally in Wales before it was moved to England.
As far as i know most archaeologists belives that the stones where taken from different places in South England and moved to Wiltshire.

Yes, Stonehenge was built using stones that came from different places... PART of Stonehenge was built with Bluestones, that came from Wales... They want to return those Bluestones to Wales... and leave the REST of the Stonehenge, exactly where it is now, and where it has been for 100s of years... But if you start picking it apart, it isn't "Stonehenge" any more. It stops being a calendar, or what ever it was meant to be, and just becomes a few stone rocks sitting on the ground. Even if you move the whole monument to Wales, the "calendar" won't work as intended.

They’ll next be demanding to see a bill of sale to prove that the stones were legally transported to their present location.

I can't even begin to imagine the technical details that would be involved in very carefully, and without damaging the stones, dismantling Stonehenge and rebuilding it exactly as it was somewhere else.
