This. And it always bothers me when people project 3's problems over the whole trilogy. I mean, how many part 3s are as good as the first two anyway? I can't name any. Exactly. I would put Spider-Man 1 and 2 against any MCU entry, save perhaps the first Avengers movie. Winter Soldier, Guardians and Civil War can also compete but agreed. Spiderman 1 & 2 are great movies.

Yeah, but so are most part threes. Iron Man 3 was a turd as well. I don't know why people pretend otherwise. The Iron Man franchise has actually only one good movie in it. The first one. 2 was not as bad as many claim it is and 3 is actually the same story but both are just mediocre. So not really good. But I will give you a good 3. Captain America Civil War. Yes there were a lot of Avengers in it but it was a Cap movie. The third installment of the Steve & Bucky relationship. And nobody can tell me this one is a bad movie. Not even you Colden!! Agreed. IM2 is another guilty pleasure. It's a massive step down from the first, but I still enjoy it. Cap 3 is a great example of a solid part 3, but I think there are a few reasons why it defies the usual pitfalls: First, Cap 1 is somewhat of an isolated entry. Sure it's the same character but everything about the series changes in the sequel. Of course that's what makes the Cap movies unique and interesting but it's also something of a different franchise starting with TWS. Second, CW is a pseudo Avengers movie as well as a TWS sequel. This gives it another jolt of freshness that most series don't get.
