Because they're shown to a target audience that is elderly and probably hard of hearing. ...and apparently cant raise the volume on their tv. My mother is ekderly and hard-of-hearing, and she sure can pounce on that mute button as soon as this guy comes on. |

The "Smile Direct Club" ad shown during the holidays, in which a young girl excitedly unwraps a present--and starts to cry when she discovers it's a Smile Direct teeth-straightening kit. Were they suggesting that she was crying with joy? Because to me they looked like tears of humiliation and disappointment--who wants that as a gift? It reminded me of the Everybody Loves Raymond episode in which Ray's brother Robert complains about the time Ray got a great toy for Christmas, while Robert's gift was a pair of corrective shoes.

Mcdonalds. Can't stand that guy's voice they have now. The paper towel ones where you see stuff spilling in slow motion and everyone yelling "noooooooo!" It triggers my OCD seeing gross food spills on tables/floors. And they always seem to be eating something that looks disgusting.  Also all the medication advertisement ones are annoying. |

But only because the radio station I listen to, plays it over and over. You would think if they are going to advertise that much, they would have more than one commercial. (And that lady who says, "My husband is from Guatemala . . ." sounds like a real dummy. I've never seen that on TV. As far as radio commercials, I also find the commercial for "Blinkist" annoying. It's the one where the girl says, "It's a beautiful night. Look at all the stars." And the guy she's with spouts off some random facts about stars. And she says, "How do you know that? You must read a million books." But I only find that annoying because once again, they play it over and over. |

I think the Liberty Mutual commercials with the emu are really stupid. The Liberty Mutual company apparently felt the need to make an impression with commercials along the lines of the GEICO gecko. By largely abandoning the commercials that took place across from the Statue of Liberty, they've made a bad impression. |

They get people talking. And there is no mistaking what company they are advertising. |

I can promise you, the commercials are louder than the TV shows and movies. I'm constantly lowering the volume for commercials. And raising it for the broadcast. |

I once heard a spokesman explain that the volume isn’t louder, it’s just that all levels of the sound are set to the highest permissible level. I wanted to kill him.

Just about every prescription medicine commercial. The side effects are horrible and the FCC should never have allowed them to advertise. They dominate the airwaves. No wonder prescription medicines are so expensive. They advertise like crazy.
