Jokers dialogue is hilariously horrible. 🤮 Oh but I thought you wasn’t going to watch it.

2 hours in... the rest for me tomorrow...
What is the aspect ratio of this version? I'll need to search that up... it's certainly not full widescreen on my tv, & yet it works.
There's so much standalone to this that nicely erases all the DCU bs for me, including BvS & MoS. A thought crossed while enjoying the vistas & singing moments, this would be a pretty cool graphic novel like Watchmen.
I think the 4 hour run time is a plus because I'm never feeling impatient about its deliberate pacing. Normally I wouldn't want to linger so long with moments & scenes, yet knowing all the runway to land this thing ahead, it's pretty cool.
The music is great, a nice touch of nuance. The ancient war with Zeus & Ares & Lanterns alongside the Amazonians & Atlantians was cool.
As it is, it's a much more nuanced experience, far more elegantly paced, & handsome looking print. This makes the step between Lester & Donner's Superman II a tiny one.

The Flash's intro song btw - Ratty, by Sunrise, was an electronica track on a cd I still possess: G.r.o.o.v.e. 2002 ...my jaw paralyzed at that nostalgia, it's sung acoustically here making it even more crazy on me.

I know it best as the trailer song for the Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake, as well as from that Heath Ledger addiction movie Candy, so I was a bit distracted to see it used in a romantic hero moment. Lol.

Lol. I see its origins are 2001. That's fun. In the next 'Movie song you hadn't heard in 2 decades new' thread, I'll be mentioning it.

-I wonder if this Martian Manhunter scene is a reshoot or not, because it's kind of sudden and lame. It'd be more effective to reveal himself to Clark (more on him and the lack thereof in a minute) or in the final battle, or even a sequel if Snyder ever got to make it It’s definitely a reshoot. Harry Lennix has gone on record that he wasn’t involved in the initial photography for the movie back in 2016. Also, Ben Affleck looks more gaunt than he does in the rest of the movie.

Lol. The song playing is "Song To The Siren" by Tim Buckley which came out in 1970 ish. The Ratty track contains a sample of the This Mortal Coil version (for me the best version of the song) of the song which came out in the 80's. The version on Justice League is a cover of the song by Rose Betts

Here's a thought: Why would a director release a movie in IMAX aspect ratio when they know specifically that it will be streamed? I don't get it.

I don’t think Snyder ever intended on giving Superman the moment with Martian Manhunter. According to Snyder, he originally intended for Batman to be visited by two Green Lanterns, but WB didn’t want to do that, so he settled with Martian Manhunter instead. Anyway, I liked it. It’s much better than BvS. I surprisingly didn’t even feel the four hour runtime, since I watched it in one sitting. Cyborg and Steppenwolf benefit the most compared to the theatrical version. My biggest gripe is that Superman feels like an afterthought. Also, I could’ve gone without Manhunter impersonating Martha.

In retrospect, depriving Martha of that moment was kind of strange, especially if he was gonna do a MM scene at the end (and like I said, that scene would be way more impactful considering Clark and military guy's history).
