The Snyder Cut states that Steppenwolf owes a debt to Darkseid because he betrayed him in the past, and him conquering thousands of worlds is supposed to be penance. As for whether or not Darkseid replaced Steppenwolf in the history lesson, that seems unlikely. Back in 2019, Snyder showed black and photos of Darkseid on Earth during the history lesson scene. I see. Do you have any idea why Darkseid forgot then? Snyder gave an explanation recently, but some might say it’s a bit flimsy. www.cinemablend.com/news/2565064/zack-snyder-clears-up-apparent-plot-hole-in-his-justice-league-cut

But Steppenwolf himself is maybe the worst. You know a movie doesn’t need to be four hours when the only backstory they give for the main villain is that he’s being punished for,,, something. Seriously the movie never gets into anything that’s going on with him. And then even worse it drops this “twist” that old Step has found the anti life equation Darkseid was looking for. But that isn’t cool as much as it just raises questions about how this is a surprise to anybody since they showed us Darkseid discovering it on the same planet in a flashback, and no indication as to why he wouldn’t know this now. You’re left to invent reasons as to how he forgot such an important place. Yet again, it’s just awkward storytelling. Didn't he lose Darkseid a world and owe him 50,000 or something in return, or was that the Theatrical? I was a bit confused about how Darkseid forgot where the ALE was as well. I think, and thisguy can probably correct me here, that the ancient battle sequence was all originally Steppenwolf as per the theatrical cut, and Snyder changed it to Darkseid for this version because he wanted a chance to show Darkseid in battle. Of course, it doesn't make much sense because not only does he get amnesia, but it didn't really do him any favors as a threatening final boss. It'd be like Thanos getting his ass kicked by Red Skull in an Avengers 1 flashback. The girl Flash saves was a setup for his love interest in his standalone movie, if that ever happens. I don't recall any specifics as to why SW owes DS, but if somebody can cite something, it may have been said during one of the many periods I zoned out in because nothing had happened for 5 straight minutes ;-) The whole history seems a cloudy mess as you pointed out though, and I confess I've never seen the original version (sidebar - I stopped watching DC after seeing 4 of them and, let's just say that was enough) but it is interesting to hear it was Steppenwolf who was shown in the flashback to begin with. As it stands in the film, I've heard people give all kinds of reasons for why he doesn't know where the planet is anymore, but all of it sounds like the longest kind of reaching. Any species capable of interstellar travel or even interdimensional travel has maps on how to get wherever they're going on a software system capable of tracking it. My cheap ass GPS can keep track of how many times I've gone to Krispy Kreme. So it's not an afterthought cinemasins type of critique, it's something that affected me during the film. I couldn't get over how he couldn't find this planet again while being told how important it was to him. Those two things don't add up without some kind of explanation. And a lot of the film felt that way to me. I was constantly like,, "wait, but why". Something I didn't mention before was Cyborg's mother's death. They film this from inside the car, at night, so all you know is that the car gets hit. It's hard to tell what angle, or who was at fault or anything. But then they have Cyborg blame his dad, saying "if you had been there, it wouldn't have happened." errrr, based on what? Best I can come up with, and I'm joking, but I'm kinda not, is that he's blaming women drivers. Obviously not really, but seriously, nothing else in the film indicates the wreck is his dad's fault, or could have been avoided. If I had to guess they want you to think his discussion with his mom distracted them, but again, there's not enough visual information on the accident to confirm that, so the line blaming his dad comes completely out of nowhere.

People who enjoyed Zack Snyder's Justice League are the kind of people who'd be Joker's goons if he existed.

I understand that over the years you have witnessed many trolls say such things to boil the blood in people and decided to one day begin to play their own game and all, but dude honestly this is getting pathetic. Alita: Battle Angel is better than Captain Marvel, TEN TIMES the movie in fact Captain Marvel made 1.1 BILLION $$$ and has an "A" cinemascore. I'd say it did OK. I can't speak about quality because it's subjective and I've never heard of Alita: Battle Angel.

Wouldn’t be shocked if you’re lying about how you truly feel about the movie too 😊 Honestly I feel like I've gone completely insane. For all I know I'll probably be complaining about it not getting Oscars by the end of the year. me currently 👇 Creeper is one of the DC guys I like

I guess this isn't surprising. TEXT: Snyder was asked recently if fans should maintain hope that he’ll get to make the two Justice League sequels that he had planned, but his comments about the studio seem to kill that dream, dead. He said: "...I would think about it this way. Yes, Warner Bros. has been aggressively anti-Snyder, if you will. And that’s… what can you say? What can I say? Clearly they’re not interested in my take. But I would also say that they certainly weren’t interested in my take on Justice League. They certainly made decisions about that. And I love the characters, and I love the worlds, and I think it’s an amazing place to make a movie. It’s glorious IP. So there’s that. I don’t know what could be done as you go forward, other than, I think the fan movement is so strong, and the fan community is so -- the intention is so pure. And I really have huge respect for it. I would hope that cooler heads would prevail with (Warner Bros.) and that they would see that there’s this massive fandom that wants more of that. But who knows what they’ll do?" www.cinemablend.com/news/2567146/zack-snyders-blunt-comments-about-warner-bros-put-his-justice-league-2-in-doubt

When JUSTICE LEAGUE came out in 2017, people said that Joss Whedon was to blame for the finished product because of his involvement, but now we know the truth. I'm referring to his creative contributions, not him being a piece of shit on set. A director's cut (that's supposed to show us Zack Snyder's true vision) has been released and it confirms that Joss didn't write all of the comedic moments during his re-shoots, and the ones he did write were just an extension of what was already there (which makes sense considering the (briefer) comic relief moments in MAN OF STEEL and BATMAN V SUPERMAN). Hell, there's even a couple of jokes in this version that didn't end up in the theatrical cut. I think it's better to break this down into 4 categories: 1) Same pros: The overall plot (which is fun) hasn't changed. 2) Same cons: The overall plot (which is unmemorable and it doesn't live up to the hype of seeing this legendary team on screen) hasn't changed. Too many characters are crammed in, so they're not all properly developed. Zack makes so many individual moments feel like the most dramatic event in the world to the point of exhaustion. 3) New pros: The fact that it's 362 minutes long and doesn't feel like a drag is impressive! The multiple subplots don't feel rushed anymore. Some scenes contain new songs that fit well, while others don't have any music anymore (which highlights the intensity of the moment). More time is dedicated to Cyborg at the beginning in a way that makes them even more likable than before. The Flash gets a brand new scene where he's at a pet store. He sees a young woman in danger and he saves her, while showing that he knows how to treat animals. Steppenwolf now has scenes where he and Darkseid (his leader) discuss the evil plan. Even though they're clichéd, I was so invested because Steppenwolf was showing a surprising amount of emotion. This is the first time the words "Wonder Woman" are uttered by a character, making her name official in-universe (wait, should this be a con since it took so long for this to happen?). There's a new epilogue that sets future movies up. I know that has annoyed people in the past, but it's done in a smarter way. Instead of hinting at what's to come, they show it. And because "it" is something that destroys the world, we see our heroes at probably their lowest point, so we feel the urge to find out how they arrived at this point. Not since a certain episode of LOST has foreshadowing (if you can even call it that) been this exciting! 4) New cons: Some scenes contain new songs that don't fit. More time is dedicated to Aquaman at the beginning without much purpose. Do you remember his scene with Mera that explained his past? Now he also gets a scene with Vulko (a character that actually debuted in his solo movie) that's not different enough to avoid redundancy. The Flash gets a brand new scene where he's at a pet store. He sees a young woman in danger and takes more time than needed to save her. Sure, being cocky about his powers is part of the character, but if you're going to show him doing other things, can't they at least be things that matter?! Something other than admiring the woman's beauty?! How can you even feel smitten in a situation like this?! When Steppenwolf appears in Themyscira, the Amazons try to trap him in a chamber while Queen Hippolyta tries to protect the Mother Box. This time, said chamber falls from a cliff, but Steppenwolf and his Parademons emerge from the water. Look, this is the introduction of the villain. Anyone with half a brain knows that he won't be stopped so early in the story. This was trimmed in the theatrical cut (Steppenwolf simply destroys the doors of the chamber and exits) and it should've stayed that way. When he sees that Steppenwolf is about to kill his father, Cyborg attacks. This time, he lets his emotions take over, while he was a lot more in control in the theatrical cut. There's a new epilogue that's ruined once we discover that it's Batman having a nightmare. I know that doesn't mean it won't happen for real (it's most likely a premonition), but presenting it as a twist (especially one of the worst of its kind) made me roll my eyes. Not to mention that the image of him waking up makes the scene lose momentum. It gets worse once an alien (and future teammate) named Martian Manhunter shows up. Even though Batman has seen all of kinds of beings by this point, I still don't buy how he reacts so calmly to this visitor. Actually, his chill attitude implies that the nightmare didn't have any effect on him, taking away all the dramatic weight. As you can see, it's all very balanced out, which is why I'm giving it the same grade. 7/10 ------------------------------------- You can read comments of other movies in my blog.

Revisited last week, my grade remains a substantive A-
I did re-watch it over several nights, each Part on its own. It's kind of a shame we'll never see it theatrically, & yet it's not as much of a fun circus show as the MCU, which probably plays better intimately at home.
