Seriously, they had almost a year to think about how to get back into all of this and conclude last season's story and this is what they came up with? I can't say I'm surprised, but Jesus tap-dancing Christ; this is what we got? This has to be the most anticlimactic climax of a superhero showdown since Clark hugged Doomsday into submission on Smallville...
For starters, why did this take three episodes to wrap up? Was that absolutely necessary? They couldn't have combined some of this shit into a single season premiere, maybe an extra long 1 1/2 hour episode or a two part opener? We had to dick around with the Wells in the first episode back, then do an entire fucking episode centered around Barry putting his head up his own ass? Because six seasons of doing either of those things hasn't been enough, I guess. And to top it off, all it takes to get through to.... checks notes (sigh) Mirror Monarch.... is basically holding hands and singing Kumbaya.... Sure, why not. I suppose that beats the hell out of the actress playing Eva trying to emote and just looking severely constipated.
And then just like that, all the problems are over; all of the mirror doubles are gone, everyone's back; Wells apparently managed to put right what once went wrong, allowing him to leap.
Boy did they phone it in getting rid of Ralph though. Of all the innovative ways I saw people talk about how they could have handled that, the writers apparently decided they really liked the way they wrote off David Yost's character of Billy from Might Morphin Power Rangers and wanted to see if they could write something even worse. Speaking of Power Rangers, evidently when Iris..... (sigh) powered up the organic speed force.... it looks like she was also summoning a team of teenagers with attitudes. Because Team Flash can't actually do anything that's not going to come back to screw them later...

One thing I thought was off was why did Iris need to power the Speedforce exactly? like I get their love thing, but in the comics doesn't Barry basically create the speedforce, like him becoming The Flash is what creates it through all space and time, so why make Iris the creator here? Same thing could be done, it's their love that powers it, Barry is given a spark of his speed back when he is with Iris, which he uses to rebirth the speedforce.
It's still the same thing, except Barry is the one who does it which ties into the comics more as a nice nod, him doing so wakes Iris back up, which you can also then play with as why the Speedforce really died, Iris in the mirror world severed the connection between her and Barry somewhat, the power of their love is what seeded the speedforce through all of eternity, with her displaced in a pocket universe outside of the SF's reach it began to lose power and die from the Spectre's energy because of this, you get all the cliche stuff but one thats more a nod to the comics and just doesn't feel like they did so just to give Iris/Candice something more to do in the episode.
Also makes Iris showing up to the fight more of a suprise if she wakes up from the SF being reawakened and without anyone noticing, then she appears right as Barry is losing to give him back his inspiration as well as the way to help Eva see where she is wrong.
I dunno I do agree though did this need to be stretched to three episodes? and yeah writing off Ralph was weak, but meh whatever, S7 properly starts next week yay.

This season of The Flash has become annoyingly ridiculous. The writing is horrible. Honestly, I haven't been able to bring myself to watch any of the rest of the episodes this season since this post; which had to be like, episode 3. Haven't watched Supergirl since the tail end of last season or Legends in like, two years. Really kind of wanted to watch Superman, but just haven't.

You are not missing much, except for Superman, that show is fucking great imo, Legends is still a sitcom written by Nickelodeon writers just now allowed to be more "mature", Supergirl is tedious due to them having to write Kara out of the main story for the entire season thus far, and well now in The Flash Barry and Iris are "parents" to the Still, Sage, Strength and Speed forces, literally being called mum and dad with the forces who are inhabiting actual people, not just taking others forms like the Speedforce is by manifesting as Barry's mother, and they are referring to each other as siblings, I mean you made the right call, except for Superman and Lois you may wanna watch that show. What gets me is they had a great excuse to bring back other actors to play the other forces in The Flash, like why not bring back ghost from their past as the physical forms of the forces, Nora Allen as the Speed Force, Nora West-Allen as the Sage Force, Eddie as the Still Force and Henry Allen as the Strength Force, giving fans what a lot want with the actors coming back, and causing a natural empathy for them for Barry and Iris as they are all formed by the memories of people they loved and lost, instead of just Nora Allen and 3 random people for no bloody reason.

Yes this whole "The Forces are their children plot is just WTF!"

So this week's episode where they resolved the "Forces" story line was absolute WTF! I have no idea what was going on. Nothing made sense.

So now The Flash has about 6 different story lines going on at once and all of them are boring as heck.
