They showed it to us in Junior High. All the guys could comment on was how hot Olivia Hussey. She could have been speaking Etruscan and we wouldn't have noticed
Had the exact same experience. They showed it to us in 7th or 8th grade. Everybody went crazy over the split-second glimpse of Olivia Hussey’s boobs. I remember Stan Koslowski saying, much louder than he thought, "Man, you could see her boobs!"
So much for the planned cultural experience

As I have written on other threads, before 1968 the Shakespeare play in U.S. high schools for 10th grade was Julius Caesar, with an almost entirely male cast and absolutely no sex (Macbeth was for the senior year, this was my HS experience). AFTER Zeffirelli, schools mainly switched to R&J, which has a boatload of sex. If the school didn't want Hussey's tits, they should have stuck to Julius Caesar (lately, it seems, it is becoming common for movies of Macbeth to have naked witches). Maybe the lesson here is that Will's plays are for everybody of all ages, not just people with upper-crust English accents. Not "CULTURE!" (in all caps with an exclamation point), but visceral experiences.

The 1935 version of A Midsummer Night's Dream. Aside from Mickey Rooney it's perfect, it's so bizarre, so unusual, I love it!
