I haven't watched many new releases for the past year.
I think Bill & Ted Face the Music was about it. And while that was somewhat better than anticipated, it still proved underwhelming.
Some upcoming movies I'm kinda interested in but at the same time worried about them...
Godzilla vs Kong (I haven't watched Godzilla King of the Monsters yet. Of the films before those, I liked Kong: Skull Island a lot more than 2014's Godzilla, which seemed to take place during a global blackout and occasionally the title monster would put in a cameo... Kong wasted no time getting straight into action, and while far from great, it at least gave us what we came to see - frickin' monsters that we can actually make out)
A Quiet Place Part II (the first one was pretty solid)
Dune (am a bit iffy on this one. One character has had a sex change, the visuals have looked cool but a tad sci-fi-generic.)
No Time to Die (this Bond film better be worth the wait)
Ghostbusters: Afterlife (a genuine sequel not a reboot that nobody wanted. This one appears to be a more Next Generation kinda thing)
The Unholy (a religious-themed horror film produced by Sam Raimi which they're curiously underselling a bit.... They make no mention in the trailer for UK audiences it's an adaptation of the James Herbert book Shrine)
Without Remorse - sorry, "Tom Clancy's Without Remorse". Michael B Jordan plays the role of former Navy SEAL John Kelly, soon to become CIA field agent and regular Jack Ryan series bad-ass, John Clark (head of Rainbow in Rainbow Six). Of course the film bears little resemblance to the book besides it being an origin story for Clark.
Anyone unfamiliar with the character John Clark - Willem Dafoe in Clear and Present Danger, and Liev Schreiber in The Sum of All Fears

I haven't watched Godzilla King of the Monsters yet. You must. Raymond Burr playing Steve Martin is a revelation.

I've only made it to the cinema once since the pandemic started - to see Bill and Ted Face the Music which I loved. I wanted to see Wonder Woman 1984 but it was only out a few days before cinemas here were shut down. Hopefully it will be re-released when the world stops ending.
I'll probably watch No Time To Die but don't exactly have high hopes after Spectre.

I've been lazy this past year. I hadn't seen many 2020 releases, even with streaming available.

You must. Raymond Burr playing Steve Martin is a revelation. He's a wild and crazy guy but Godzilla may have considered him a jerk.

I’m happy to watch new films but I stopped going to the cinema (unless someone needed company) years ago.

Definitely looking forward to Dune. I'm a fan of everything Denis Villeneuve does.

I've only watched one new release in the last ~year. The new Emma. I liked that version.
I watched Godzilla King of the Monsters...didn't like it near as much as the Godzilla 2014.
But generally, I don't bother with new major movies...more often just Hallmark movies that I get streaming and what I can find on Amazon Prime.

I'm still looking forward to No Time to Die. Me too. And we'll keep looking forward. It was to be April. Now it will be October.

I used to go to the movies in a theater about 30+ times a year but my last visit was for “Knives Out” toward the end of November 2019.
I have just seen 9 (DVD or Streaming) dated 2020 by the database and a fat zero dated 2021, but then, I had pretty much stopped New Releases except for carefully chosen titles. For 2020 my choices have been:
The Best (alphabetical)
Emma / Autumn de Wilde Bill And Ted Face The Music / Dean Parisot Mank / David Fincher Tenet / Christopher Nolan The Trial Of The Chicago 7 / Aaron Sorkin The Rest (random order)
The Boys In The Band / Joe Mantello Macbeth: Playing Shakespeare. Shakespeare's Globe with Deutsche Bank The Old Guard / Gina Prince-Bythewood The Rhythm Section / Reed Morano
As much as I loved sitting in the dark with strangers watching phantom figures on a huge screen, I am not sure that I still look forward to theater openings. Maybe I’ll go back and discover the Old Magic. Maybe not.

I just watched 'Mank' yesterday and really enjoyed it. First new movie I've seen in awhile.
Started out a bit slow, and in one of the first scenes it seemed the fake nose on the Orsen Wells character was really obvious.. but turned out great.
The scenes with Oldman and Seyfried were really nice.
Lots of snappy dialogue and historical references. Whoever wrote it did a shitload of research.
I'd give it 9/10.

I haven't been to the cinema since the end of 2019. I think the movie was Ford vs Ferrari, otherwise I've watch a few first runs available on streaming. Judas and the Black Messiah is excellent; Irresistible so-so; Greyhound pretty good; and that's about it. I've mostly watched older movies I missed somehow or old favorites. How was Ford v Ferrari? I heard that was pretty good
