Would the Beatles have become THE BEATLES if they had stuck with Stu Sutcliffe and Pete Best? Zero chance with either or both. Stu wanted out anyway. He'd face backwards while trying to play. Plus there was a lot of serendipity that made The Beatles, so lots of sliding doors could have changed things.

The thing I always wondered, Lennon was so close to Stu (almost hero worship), would he have ever fired him? Probably, he wanted the band to succeed more than anything but you never know. He might have kept him around long enough to drive Paul and George away.
Best maybe. I've read stuff on the early days that claimed he was more popular with the girls that even McCartney. And I've read that he wasn't a bad drummer. He just didn't fit in. And George Martin wanted nothing to do with Best.

Best was popular as a 50s semi-heartthrob. He'd have never accepted a moptop and was missing Ringo's everyman pathos. Nothing special about his voice, but doubt he'd let Lennon and McCartney be the frontmen. Never followed his post-Beatles career. I can't even find a review of his "Best of The Beatles" album. This is supposedly pretty good from 2008. I'm having a listen now. So far, eh.

Today (February 25th) would have been George Harrison's 80th birthday (Born: February 25, 1943 - Died: November 29, 2001 (58)) www.msn.com/en-us/music/news/george-harrison-said-he-felt-sorry-for-elton-john-for-being-one-of-the-only-rock-stars-who-reached-beatle-level-stardom/ar-AA17T8Pw George Harrison and Elton John had a complicated relationship: George often said he liked Elton John. The pair worked together on George's 1987 album, Cloud Nine.
However, he was critical of Elton John's work. "Well, Elton John's music is something I've never thought much of," George told India Today. "It all sounds the same, though I think he's written a good song once (many years ago, of course). His music is made to a formula: throw in lyrics, throw in four chords, shake well, and there it is, the new Elton John super-hit!"George and Elton John didn't have a perfect relationship, but they were friends for the most part, with or without common interests. It’s late 1959, somewhere in Liverpool, and history shines in every dimly-lit detail. Schoolboys Paul McCartney and George Harrison, 17 and 16, are rock and rolling together with art-school student John Lennon, 19. John, Paul and George were a trio for much of 1958-59. ‘The rhythm’s in the guitars’, they’d audaciously tell promoters who wondered where their drummer was.” Photo was discovered in early 2020. They’d morph into the Beatles within a year of this pic.

The "Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band" Photo Crew with their Original Design for the Album Cover - 1966 The Sgt. Pepper Album Cover Team, From Left: Jann Haworth, Mohammed (Robert Fraser’s driver), Peter Blake, Andy Boulton, Trevor Sutton, Nigel Hartnup, Madame Tussauds worker, Michael Cooper, and Mal Evans – the Beatles Road Manager One thing the Beatles gave little thought to was copyright. The head of EMI itself Sir Joseph Lockwood, took one look at the proposed album cover and said, “This is nonsense, we’re not having this.”
The Beatles, well aware of their vast power replied, “We will have it.”
Finally, Sir Joe relented but laid the responsibility on Brian Epstein's shoulders to get all the clearances for using the images, many of who were still living.
Brian turned to Wendy Hanson, his resourceful but now ex P.A. to complete the Herculean task. It was a nightmare.
Late night transatlantic phone calls to Fred Astaire, Marlon Brando, and Johnny Weissmuller were made.
Mae West proved especially difficult. “What would I be doing in a Lonely Hearts Club?”
Finally it took a personal letter from the Beatles begging her to get her to change her mind. glamourdaze.com/2018/04/the-sgt-pepper-cover-story.html Sgt. Pepper 50th Anniversary Billboard in London SAVE FERRIS

The film features an all-star cast, including Art Carney, John Ritter, Carrie Fisher and George Harrison. Starr performs songs from his concurrent album, Bad Boy, and older material. The film's story is loosely based on The Prince and the Pauper. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ringo_(1978_film)SAVE FERRIS

The Help album cover shows the Beatles with their arms positioned to spell out a word in flag semaphore. According to cover photographer Robert Freeman, "I had the idea of semaphore spelling out the letters 'HELP'. But when we came to do the shot, the arrangement of the arms with those letters didn't look good. So we decided to improvise and ended up with the best graphic positioning of the arms.
