They say Madge Bellamy was born to hold a gun. One time when she shot a man who was avoiding her, she said if she'd been meaning to do more than wing him, he'd be dead. If she took aim, you were in trouble.
The only man that could tame her was evil hypnotist Bela Lugosi who used egregious methods and nefarious means. She wasn't the only actress active during Hollywood's Golden Age to claim she'd been possessed by Lugosi, who was repeatedly accused of being a spellcaster sent from the old country.

 I wonder if Madge was one of the actresses I once did a little research about, before net and computers, and gave up. I think it was about Leslie Halliwell's Filmgoers Companion (late 1970's edition) were it said she never did any sound movies, but White Zombie said she did. Unless this is another Madge.

She has a distinct accent when she speaks, you can hear it in her voice.
