I had posted on another thread that I was going to take a break from all the current news kerfuffle, to spend time in Nature, but decided to bring the Spring 'Break' here to ProBoards. (See, Cinemachinery , I said I wasn't going far!) I wish I could post my own photos, but alas, I am digitally challenged, so will post photos already on the internet that mirror what is going on in my garden. Feel free to add photos that speak to you, this is a feel-good thread! First, a bit of backstory on the Vernal Equinox: www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/spring-equinox-2021-hope-on-the-horizon/ar-BB1eLFAR?ocid=msedgdhpThen, a brief social comment: Then, what is blooming in my part of the world! These beauties have already come and gone: In memory of a good friend who is not here for this spring...

Today's new appearance! That's gorgeous. I love spring so much. Me, too! The great thing about hyacinths is their fragrance. Sometime you can find them in a grocery store floral section, forced bulbs in a glass with water. Buy one, take it home, put it in your bedroom and wake up to the whole room filled with fragrance. They don't last long, but you can plant the bulb out side and it will come up the next year!

My gram always had a gorgeous garden. My mom gave it up because the deer eat everything, lol. They love flower bulbs! It's a shame because I love tulips and daffodils. I always wanted a little moon garden if white flowers and plants.

It’s a lovely day here. 54 degrees and sunny, nice cool breeze. A few clouds and it’d be perfect.

I bought an orchid a few days ago, just a simple phalaenopsis, but lovely just the same!

Too bad they're so difficult (for me anyway) to grow and maintain. So beautiful. Phalaes are the easiest to maintain, it's the exotic Dendrobiums and others that are so picky. I actually hang my orchids in pots from tree limbs in good weather, their natural habitat is as a parasite plant on trees. They get the proper sun/shade mix, rainwater, etc. But indoors in a window for winter, they don't like real cold weather. Fertilizer, specific to orchids, helps, and good drainage. Orchids in Hawaii in the wild.

As I type right now, there is a pot of blooming hyacinth just to my left; the scent is intoxicating (and a little addictive, lol!)
