although I prefer costar Dick Haymes later version (wrong month but you get the idea) in truth a more muted repertoire seems appropriate this year maybe this one
What are your favourite classic movie spring moments and/or films that have a particular Spring flavour?

Maybe not favorites, but Spring just the same. Spring in Park Lane 1948 First movie that popped up. I don't know why since I've never seen it

I think this seasonal song was written by Peggy Lee with Appalachian songwriter Billy Edd Wheeler. It became a favourite with audiences so she re-recorded it more than once and performed it on tour.
'There'll Be Another Spring' (1959) - Peggy Lee & George Shearing
'Swing Into Spring' (1958) - Benny Goodman

I'm big on Peggy and have that album but had forgotten that one. Love the Benny Goodman

Весна на Заречной улице, Spring on the Dawn Street aka Spring on Zarechnaya Street (1956) Soviet Union. Dir. Felix Mironer & Marlen Khutsiev An excellent film made during a period of Soviet liberalization, known as Thaw cinema, Spring 0n the Dawn Street is a fresh and contemporary departure from the strict formulistic style seen in Soviet cinema of the Stalin years. It was a huge box office hit, viewed by more than 30 million Soviets upon its release, universally appealing the film today remains a much-loved classic. The bleak banality of the film’s industrial setting is broken when, a bright young university graduate, Tatyana, arrives at the remote working town of Zaporozhye to start teaching Russian language and literature to the local adult steel workers. A film with many levels of meaning and interweaving of many themes. A budding romance develops, it is a film about learning to see past one’s prejudices and preconceptions, adjusting to life in a new place. Across the country the economy is booming and people’s quality of life is improving. However, there are many who remain at a disadvantage unable to seize the new opportunities because of their lack of higher education. Spring at the Dawn" was masterly created by a dedicated team of enthusiastic new cinematic voices. The touching drama became a symbol, ending with the passing of long harsh winter, the sun shines on a new dawn, the blossoming new Spring season brings with it the hope of liberty and abundant opportunity... Highly Recommended!

A childhood favorite that I got to revisit last year because of you, timshelboy. No masterpiece, but it held up well. Thanks so much. And I know this isn't from a film, but I have to add it. May it be true for everyone on planet as soon possible, metaphorically or otherwise.

If you have ever seen a movie before you'll know already where this one is going but it is a lovely journey getting there. Much prefer Sirk's early Americana (this and HAS ANYBODY SEEN MY GAL? for example) over the latter lush more feted melodramas. Ideal for a family friendly classic as an Easter Treat.

I don't believe I've seen this one, tim, and I will definitely give it a look, soon I hope. Sheridan was a real treat, in my opinion. Thanks for the recommendation and the link!

Younger than Springtime is in the original Broadway score. Lieut. Cable did have a song that was added to the movie score. You’ve Got To Be Carefully Taught deepens the understanding of racism that Joe and Nellie are struggling with as they consider the love they have found in such unfamiliar surroundings. Rogers and Hammerstein scored in very traditional opera style. The lead s were a soprano and bass, the second leads were tenor and possibly a lyric soprano. In this case, the lyric role , the young girl was virtually mute, so the second lead was a comic soubrette, Bloody Mary.
