This is a beta test for now. If works, we can plan some pool in the future. Let's see if enough people are interested.

Don't know if he was ever called Patsy, but the full name is "Charles Alston Tebeau"
Ahhh, two different players.
Oliver Wendell Tebeau, famed as a Cleveland Spider, but not the infamous 1899 Spiders. Don't know is he was related to Pussy.
I don't think they are related. Patsy was born in Missouri, and Pussy in Mass. Patsy Tebeau is related to George Tebeau though, brothers.

Our inaugural season begins today. For educational purpose to those who are not familiar and like to know about Fantasy Baseball, you can follow the league here and ask questions: baseball.fantasysports.yahoo.com/b1/128476Fantasy baseball is a lots of fun and increase the enjoyment in watching baseball. I don't know about the fantasy league of other sports. It may be a lots of work, but if anyone would start a league for the board for other sports, that would be fun also. Happy Baseball!

I'm not in an IMDB league. But I was glad my opponent lost 5 points on Bellinger's 2-run HR turned RBI single on Justin Turner's blunder.

I had a nice lead over everyone before yesterday.
German got -3.5 points for giving up 3 runs in 3 innings and losing.
My hitters went 3-21 with 3 singles and only got me 2 points back. Negative points day.
Romano and Bohm had 13 points, but both were on the bench.

Wish the teams decide sooner when put a player on IL. I dropped Zac Gallen and Kole Calhoun too soon. Both were DTD. Right after I dropped them, their status changed to IL.

I have been instantly reminded of why I quit playing fantasy baseball all those years ago. I LOVE watching baseball. Obviously, I prefer Met games (Opening Day....Again!!) but I'll watch pretty much any game I can get my eyes on. But I just want to watch it, I don't want to have a vested interest in Trevor Story getting a hit or whether Raisel Iglesias can nail down the save. It almost takes something away from the simple enjoyment that I get from watching the games.
Maybe that's just me.

I stopped playing fantasy leagues a few years ago because I found myself hating the NFL and MLB seasons. Football and baseball are much more enjoyable without fretting over every little play. Once in a while I will get the bug and play a daily game on DraftKings but thatβs it. Unfortunately for me, I just found out sports betting is legal in Virginia. Iβve been itching all weekend to drive the 20 minutes to the VA state line and log onto DraftKings Sportsbook and place a few bets. So far Iβve resisted but not sure how much longer I can hold out.

I'll watch pretty much any game I can get my eyes on. That is me even before I start playing fantasy baseball. It was a little hard in the beginning when there was a conflict arised watching either NY teams when the opposing team has a NY player. It does not bother me that much now. Last year one week, my opposing team has Luke Voit and our scores were close. I rather have Luke Voit hit 3 HR than have him strikeout and me winning the week. Luke Voit had a monster week and I lost. Today, you have deGrom against me. I rather see him pitch a no-hitter. Let's go Mets!!!
The biggest benefit I found fantasy baseball is to get to know the players from teams outside of NY and Eastern Division of either league that the NY teams don't face that much. When I turn on ESPN or MLB-Network, I can watch without knowing the players. It is more fun if I understand the stats of the pitcher on the mound and the batter coming to bat.
I think it does help when I play without a heavy stake. Hard to say how I feel when I play for a few more years.

At least if a few of my players are in a game, I may tune in.

That's awesome, yeah!! deGrom!! For me, I nerd out on rotoworld and baseball reference when I'm on conference calls and I'm not participating (which is an all-too-common occurrence in my average day) so I'm fairly well versed in the players in general, but yeah, fantasy can totally give you a leg up on that. I had never heard of that guy from Texas that Heretic mentioned in your thread a few weeks ago and while he may not be the greatest player, his defensive eligibility makes him one of the most valuable players you can have. It's an interesting way in which fantasy can sometimes different from reality which makes it fun. If I didn't say so, thanks for setting up the league! May the best sports boarder win!

Tatis 3/18 with 7 Ks, 5 errors, 1 CS, and is headed for the IL.
-3 points in my league. Does the IMDB league use basic scoring?
I have Darvish, Snell, Musgrove, and Pagan, and the Pads are not great without Tatis.

If they are -2 usually, that would explain it.

I've already had two golden sombreros on my squad.

Our negative points: -2 error -2 caught stealing -.5 ground into double play -.5 strikeout -3 loss -1 earned run -.5 hit allowed -.5 walk Nothing for a blown save or blown hold or a hit batter. Our biggies are 15 perfecto 10 no hitter
