Too weak at the moment to write special posts as I had planned, but worth remembering. Dirk Bogarde, from Doctor in the House to heavier movies like The Servant. Gordon MacRea, not a great actor, but dating Doris, and belting out big showtunes with a big voice, makes up for that. Nino Manfredi from Italy, few movies traveled "north of the Alps", but worth checking out since we all loved each others so much with bread and chocolate. Carl Betz, never really become a movie star, but long runs of The Donna Read Show and Judd for the Defence (Golden Globe Winner) kept him well known. Nancy Kelly, a pleasant leading lady and former child actress, and later theatre actress, who's most famous movie today is for playing the mother of the little monster in The Bad Seed. Jack Clayton, producer and director, responsible for movie versions of Room at the Top 1959, The Innocents 1961, The Pumpkin Eater 1964 and The Great Gatsby 1974. Diana Barrymore, she only acted in 8 movies, yet she was talked about since her father was nobody else but John Barrymore. Her autobiography was the basis for the 1958 movie Too Much, Too Soon, with Errol Flynn playing her father and Dorothy Malone playing her. ![]() Tommy Cooper, a beloved British comedian who's act was to mess up even the simplest magic tricks. Sadly remembered for collapsing and dying on a live televised British Variety Show. When something hurts, listen to your body, something might be wrong, search help, I nearly did the same mistake as Tommy, hoping it would go away around 8 years ago, a few painkillers and some alcohol only helped for a few hours, it didn't take the trouble away. The heart was pumping on empty. I did survive that time even if it was a matter of hours that time.
