Lana Del Rey has returned with a new album during lockdown. I've read this week that 'Chemtrails Over The Country Club' (2021), which is her 7th studio album, evolved from the sessions of her last album, 'Norman Fucking Rockwell!' (2019). She seems like the most extraordinary talent. I think it's really hard to do what she does, which is to make music that's deeply evocative of different points in history (musical and otherwise) that sounds fresh and exciting. It's all so dangerous and intoxicating.

Why is it disturbing?

To some it could be comedy.

Blind-ordered it and should get it this week, looking forward to listening to it.

Loved the first 2 songs but didn’t really care for much after that unfortunately. But it might grow.

Reviews of this album I've read suggest it's a bit of an odds and sods type collection of songs, they rate it good rather than great, but coming off the back of a masterpiece, it seems petty to quibble too much when some new raw material's on offer, especially when as you say, we've heard absolute gems off this record. At her best, on any given song, I've come to find her mesmerising (and just a little unsettling).
Have a nice Easter.

Already like it more after my second listen. Dark But Just a Game is very good too. Have a nice Easter you too.
