14 ITS ABOUT SHOPGIRLS.... AND THEIR MEN The Crowded Day The US release name is Shop Spoiled Impressive - I thought that would be the last to go Rachel Roberts was the future Mrs Harrison in her 4th movie. More clues to the 2 left WHEN SHE WAS GOOD ETC - I believe it is Sofia Coppola's favourite movie - as well as being mine! - she was contemplating a remake but I hope she doesn't THIS IS..... Again - look to your left for a clue - the film was banned by the Catholic Legion of Decency, which of course ensured it became a huge hit

8 BUT WHEN SHE’S BAD SHE’S GREAT. Why that is another Double use tagline - never in the annals of imdbs 1 or 2.... I was thinking of this one DARLING incidentally the money men wanted Shirley for DARLING but Schlesinger held out for Julie Christie. DARLING Bonus point! and clue to THIS IS Look to your left and up a bit and you will see a fractured image the star of the movie in another film.... the film you are seeking the title to was her first title role and the rest of the tagline was she's nineteen, she makes her husband stay away. ... she won't let the stranger go

An impressive debut, Sir Tim.
In the immortal words of 'Oliver':
"Please, Sir -- may we have some more?"

38 THIS IS ... Bingo! and you get an extra bonus point because I didn't use the more common full poster tagline that would have made this one of the first to go... and you get a surprise but thoroughly deserved Honorary Lifetime Achievement Bonus of 5 points for informing me that my favourite screen musical ripped off the tagline from my favourite movie of all time less than 4 years later and it has taken me 60 years to notice.... I blame the cataracts. Every day is a school day on IMDB2!

An impressive debut, Sir Tim. In the immortal words of 'Oliver': "Please, Sir -- may we have some more?" Matt - well this one effectively took me almost 60 years. The Hayley Mills thread reminded me of how much I like the IN SEARCH OF CASTAWAYS tagline and a few more popped into my mind.. so I thought it might be fun to start a tagline thread... trouble is I've used up all my favourites. Maybe in 2081 I'll have amassed enough more! But to keep you going til then here is a special exalted plus level film tagline worth an incredible TEN MEGABONUS POINTS THE BOOK THEY SAID COULDN'T BE WRITTEN
HAS BECOME THE FILM THEY SAID COULD NEVER BE MADE!The question you - or anyone - needs to answer to bag those ten points is "What is the source for that tagline? " ?
CLUE People of my vintage might have owned it in their late teens.....

Good guess - and I think there may have been some publicity for LOLITA along those lines but that wasn't what I was thinking of Your next clue - Remember I used the word "source" in my previous clue....the answer may be more literary than cinematic..... Am venturing into the real world now but back in a few hours to see if you have got it...

Kinsey (2004) based on the Kinsey reports just a guess Sorry no - Like I said.... source is perhaps more literary than cinematic.... If this board were around when the tagline appeared someone would post a thread on the source for it and most of regulars would weigh in with their view on the value of the source's judgements.....

"8 WHEN SHE WAS GOOD SHE WAS VERY VERY GOOD.. BUT WHEN SHE WAS BAD SHE WAS... CLUE FILM WON 3 OSCARS, and the leading lady I believe was the first to accept the award in a trouser suit!!!!! SOLVED DARLING or SWEET CHARITY Jervistech"
Hi there timshelboy What a great idea and so much fun reading your collection of taglines, I arrived late on the scene with only three to go , with limited time I came up with Julie Christie & her three Oscar winning film, however I still am PUZZLED by the clues given ? which lead me astray... No poster I have seen of Darling has that tagline and when Christie took home the gold Oscar she was wearing an iridescent gold turtleneck gown with mod-style hoop earrings, it was a dress she had made herself.
Jane Fonda made a statement when she received the award for Klute (1971) by wearing a two-piece Yves Saint Laurent pant suit saying she "was not dressing for men."

Still here but should not be !! Myra Breckinridge (1970) ? ... My 1958 "Gods Little Acre" poster reads something similar " It's on the screen !... The explosive lusty story 20 million readers said could never be made" ...
