Duvernay wouldโve botched it anyway.

The Trench seems easy enough to cancel but I would've put money on New Gods being a sure thing. I'm pretty surprised and disappointed.

That's too bad. New Gods did interest me.

This is confirmation that Wan's out and we won't get an Aquaman 3. That tells me we probably won't see a Wonder Woman 3 either. Very interesting indeed.

This is WB we're talking about. I won't believe any project is "still happening" until I see a trailer. Even then, I'll still worry that WB will find a way to screw it up.

Hang on a second, Green Lantern Corps is set for their 2023 slate? Is that what Snyder was referring to?

Hereโs a key part of the article: That's why they should have waited and saved him for a later movie. Now they have nothing to build up to. The MCU would never have worked if they'd taken out Thanos in the first movie.

They didn't need to make a Trench movie.

Apparently the Trench movie was going actually to be a Black Manta movie.

No offense to either project or director/producer, but those two particular projects didn't give me high hopes. Now we know that The Trench was actually a cover for a Black Manta movie. That sounds better than a Trench movie, but still kinda slim, as I don't know if Black Manta is popular enough a character to demand a whole movie all by himself... just yet. Maybe after Aquaman 2? And an Ava DuVerany version of The New Gods wasn't sounding too hot to me either. I think very highly of Ava DuVernay, and I would LOVE to see a New Gods movie. But her version of it didn't sound too amazing to me because look at what she did with Wrinkle in Time. That movie was boooooorrrrriiiing. She's great at drama, but superhero, sci-fi, FX stuff? Not so much. Still hoping to see a New Gods movie. And I know it wont happen, but it would be amazing of Zack Snyder would do it. I loved his version of them. Darkseid rules!!!

James Wan will reuse his 'Trench' ideas for something else in the future.

Bump Comic book writer Tom King has revealed whether he thinks his canceled New Gods script he co-wrote with Ava DuVernay could be revived now that there is new leadership at DC Studios. "Ah, I mean, anything's possible," he said in an exclusive interview with CBR. "I love that script. I loved working with Ava. It was an absolute joy. She's a genius storyteller. You absolutely never know. I don't want to close any doors. Right now, I'm just so incredibly busy. I have so much on my plate. It'd be hard to see taking on a whole movie right now. But that script has never been read. The movie was taken off the docket because it conflicted with the plans they had at the time. So who knows? When new plans come, maybe new opportunities will arise. That's complete speculation. I have absolutely no knowledge. I'd love to work with Ava again. She was a joy." www.cbr.com/new-gods-tom-king-ava-duvernay-canceled-dc-movie/
