He probably falls into that “like the music but not the man” category, though not to the extent of full on assholes like Ted Nugent. He was great at what he did though and at least seemed honest about his life. Rest in peace.

I randomly hung out with him a few years ago. I assumed he was an angry, abusive, drug addled lunatic, and I think some of that was true; but he was actually really nice and friendly the night that I met him.
Clearly he was a troubled guy. RIP.
