When someone like Hank Aaron or Eddie Van Halen dies, the accolades pour in, and deservedly so, but it also makes me wish I said or did more while they were still alive. So pick someone, anyone, and tell us how great that person is while they’re still among the living.
I’ll start. I think Stevie Nicks is awesome. Her voice is instantly recognizable and unlike any other that I know of, and her contributions to the world of music both with Fleetwood Mac and when going solo are immeasurable. I believe she’s the first female artist to be elected to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice. Landslide, Edge of Seventeen, and that one she does with the otherwise forgettable Don Henley are favorites of mine. When she and Lindsey Buckingham joined Fleetwood Mac it both changed their musical direction and took them to heights few others have achieved. So here’s to you Stevie Nicks, thanks for being awesome.
Now you pick someone.

Care to elaborate or is it so obvious as to be self explanatory?

I tend to think of directors/authors and the like when it comes to this question, because they are still creating content well after lots of other types of artists are, for all intents and purposes, through. Like, I can't name a song off of Steel Wheels, let alone anything in the 32 years since for The Rolling Stones. I'm very thankful for their output, but in terms of their future gifts to society, I don't think we're going to be missing terribly much.
But when the Coen Brothers die, I will be very sad, because I know they have lots of great movies left, and they'll never be able to make them all.

I’ll say this about the Stones - in 2016 they put out an album of nothing but blues covers called Blue and Lonesome. It was their best album in years. To this day they still put on fantastic live shows. Mick Jagger is 20+ years my senior and is in better shape than me. Whatever “it” is they’ve still got it. It’s inevitable though that we’ll lose them one by one and in 75 more years when it’s Keith time it’ll be a sad sad day.

There's one name I instantly want to use for the "appreciate them while they're still here" game, but it's a Monday and I don't want Frank's head to explode so early in the week.......
So instead I'll say Neil Young.
Even Uncle Neil won't be around forever, so enjoy him now even more.

By definition Most Valuable Player is like the Highlander... There can be only one. You've been declared Christopher Lambert.

For the respect of the OP, I just gonna say Reggie Jackson. I haven't seen him mentioned much lately. He was "the man" when I first start watching baseball. His 3 HRs in 1977 WS was the earliest memory of watching a game live. His stay with the Yankees may have been short, but those were great time. Thank you Reggie!

The candy bar was pretty good too. Always liked what Graig Nettles said about the Reggie Bar when a reporter asked if if he liked it
"never took a bite. I opened one and it started telling me how good it was"
Nettles was a hoot

I wanted to hate the Reggie Bar, I really did.......but damn if it wasn't pretty good. I wolfed down a few before they went bye-bye.
