Hatter's Castle (1942) dir: Lance Comfort may be the only feature film depicting the Tay Bridge Railway disaster in which around 70 persons died. Robert Newton, Deborah Kerr, James Mason, and Emlyn Williams did their best under Comfort's uninspired direction, but the novel was not much to start with. I could not find a decent image. Can anyone help out? try about a minute into this clip, Must say I liked the movie from my one viewing 35 years ago or so ... although its is not really a "disaster movie" but a solid Cronin potboiler with a train crash to enliven the final reel...
Train crash recommendation - portmanteau effort following 4 people in train crash Young Peter Finch & Joan Dowling standouts
and a similar soap opera flashbacker approach to disater was this 1952 effort with a rare classic example of "and also" starring - Bette hrself (presumably to support new hubbie Merrill in the lead, visiting the relatives of his deceased travelling companions)
