...Protagonists?
Iβm watching Bride of Chucky for the first time in a long time and boy howdy are these characters annoying, selfish douchebags! Itβs usually not too hard to root for the killer in slasher sequels but these characters have me wishing for the most painful deaths imaginable.
Other examples?

- Everyone not named Alexandra Daddario in Texas Chainsaw 3D.
- The kids in the first Purge movie.

Are you including the main couple? I thought they were bland, if anything. Their gay friend was alright.
-everyone *including* Alexandra Daddario in Texas Chainsaw 3D (even those boobs don't make up for "Do your thing, cuz!") -everyone but Wendy and Kevin in Final Destination 3 -everyone in the I Know What You Did Last Summer movies (the second one especially) -everyone but the security guard in Urban Legend -everyone in Unfriended

That can be a slightly more complicated question because sometimes your protagonist IS the monster.
Like the movie Spree recently had a main character/protagonist that has is emblematic of everything that can go wrong with being a social media wannabe, and that makes him essentially intolerable from the beginning to the end.

Dead Shack (2017) - one of the main characters, some teen kid, is probably the most annoying/unlikeable protagonists I have seen in any film
I'm struggling to think of many characters in the Friday 13th franchise that I liked. The unlikeable ones certainly outnumber the likeable ones.

The unlikeable ones certainly outnumber the likeable ones. In the Friday the 13th movies there are always some douche bags that are there just to be killed, but your actual protagonist is always intended to be a little more relatable and likeable. I saw a real piece of shit recently called Muck from 2015 that has absolutely no likeable people in it at all.

That MAGA chick in Dashcam (2021). Making her a Trump lover wasn't necessary. I still felt bad for what happens to her though. That movie was crazy, but in a good way!

The new "Castle Freak". Pretty much all but two characters are complete Douchebags! Not sympathetic at all. But they tried something new with the Creature and the last act. So there is that.

Yeah, I pretty much hated this one. There was some discussion about this a few pages back but to reiterate; all bad characters, poorly very poor production values in terms of the directing and cinematography, weak acting, etc., and one very oddly, overly pornographic sex scene. The good elements were the location and taking a big swing with the way it ended, but the last scene (or maybe it was a post credit thing?) where they tried to set up a connected 'universe' of Stuart Gordon/lovecraft remakes was kind of pathetic. You don't get to assume you're making more of these when your movie is so cheap and pathetic.

I just watched both versions of Castle Freak for the first time this October. The second one definitely ramped up the smut, which is admirable, but I preferred the Combs/Crampton reteam-up version.
