Jemima Goldsmith quotes the Koran as she leads criticism of her ex-husband Imran Khan after the Pakistan PM blamed how women dress for rise in rape cases and said 'not everyone has the willpower to avoid it'
Imran Khan blamed 'vulgarity' in society for sexual violence, saying modesty must be preserved because some men 'do not have the willpower to avoid it'
Khan made the comments during a question and answer with the public when he was asked for a solution to rising rape cases in Pakistan
He responded that society must play a role by preserving modesty and avoiding media or culture that promotes 'vulgarity or obscenity'
Khan picked out 'sex, drugs and rock n roll culture' of the UK in the 70s and India's Bollywood as examples of moral decline

Have you seen a photo of Imran from his county cricket days in the 70s? I doubt there'd be too many more qualified to talk about sex, drugs and rockk'n'roll in the UK at that time!

This rationale doesn’t make any sense to me at all.
No matter what the moral or ethical code you follow - rape is in the top echelon of bad things to do to another person.
If a person has no problem in raping someone else, adding layers of clothing isn’t going to stop them.
Likewise, if “moral decline” is what has seen the dramatic rise in the incidence of rape - then why is this not seen elsewhere in the world that enjoyed the “sex drugs and rock and roll culture of the Uk in the70’s” - some 4 decades ago mind you - and “Bollywood movies” ?
Maybe, just maybe, it’s because you have a culture that explicitly states that women are lesser people to men, and leaders blame the victims instead of the perpetrators “not being able to stop themselves”........

Musharaf was better. Didn't feed the religious extremists. And that's the thing aj, Imran has never been an extremist in the past. He liked a beer and a glass of wine. He played the field and was considered a playboy. Now he's talking about sexual purity and being beholden to The Prophet. It's almost as if a group of religious zealots saw him as a way to power, held him hostage in his own home for years, and only released him after he'd agreed to be a figure head for their extremist ideoligies...
