I'm not a professional critic posting and article for a magazine or website. I'm just a viewer posting my opinion on a message board. I get that but it doesn't change the fact that how she looks has nothing to do with the show. Being a professional or not doesn't matter in the sexualization or objectifying of women. If you didn't like her big brown eyes or her red hair would you have mentioned it? I actually have conflicting thoughts about this. I think unnecessarily criticizing someone's looks is just a douchebag move, but saying someone looks great is perfectly alright. What stands out here is that her looks are the second thing the OP mentions and that raises flags. At least he mentions her acting first. Women point out the sexiness of men in movies all the time.

Wait, that is your review? You asked for people's opinion. I have issues with the comments about her body, because her body has nothing to do with the show. In context with the purpose of a movie review, commenting on her body (unless her body being a certain way has something to do with the story) is unnecessary. Well, this is not a professional review from a magazine or website. It's just my review posted on this message board. I voted "something else" btw. I don't like throwing around the word "misogynistic" without good reason.

No, it's not misogynistic. There is nothing wrong with a review from the perspective of a heterosexual male, just as there isn't if it's from a gay male or a woman. Each critic brings their own experience to the review.
What if I as a gay man write a review based on criticism of the heterosexual family structure? We do that often in LGBT periodicals. No one objects to a review coming from a gay perspective. Why should they object to a heterosexual male opinion of the leading female character as a woman?
As much as some might wish, we don't live in a gender neutral world. Gender is real and there is nothing misogynistic about taking that into consideration.

I dated one girl for 7 years. I proposed to her. She never said no. But she wouldn't say yes. So I told her this is going nowhere. I want to break up. She came over crying. So we stayed together for about 4 months until she could find somebody new. She married him. A few months later she called me and said she thought she made a mistake. She should have married me instead. By then they had a kid together. I told her that's very flattering. But it's too late now. Since then, there has been nobody who I thought was relationship material. And the older I got, the more I appreciated my freedom. Especially compared to my married friends. What about you? I guess fair is fair so I'll spill. I dated a lot of women until I found "the one". We got married. She died of cancer about 7 years later. I've dated many many women since then but have never found one that could compare to her. Not fair to them but that's the way it is. I've found plenty of women who I could myself making a life with but have moved on. I'm always honest and have never lied to anybody. As of last year I was part of a 3 way relationship. It was going fine until life got in the way. Unfortunately for me the real world has had a major impact on my life. From the pandemic to the race issues we live every day. 1) Sorry about your wife. 2)What's a three way relationship? You and two girls? Or . . . 3) How has the "real world" had a major impact on your life?

He does note her acting first with one sentence but then goes on about her looks. Didn't seem sincere to me. Criticizing someone's looks is a douchebag move but It's not right to go on about how "good" somebody looks either. Actresses should be rated on their talent and ability and not on how they look. Their looks have nothing to do with their acting talent. When people criticize people's looks then people come to their defense and say things like "you look good" etc... To me there's no difference. A person's looks shouldn't enter into the equation as to the person they are or talent they have. Good or bad. Women doing it doesn't make it right.

Whether it should be mentioned in a review is what I am on the fence about. I personally have no issue with mentioning it in a review, but don't tend to personally do it. What an actor or actress looks like in a movie can add to the appeal of watching the movie. This is just a fact.

Anyone who puts their image out there should expect criticism and I’ve seen much worse examples. My view is that perfection is overrated and it’s the flaws that helps to make an actor look right for the part and she certainly did look right.
I also don’t think Autumn is anti male and that’s how this debate migrated over here.

Yes. Creepy.
I don't think it needs to be stated that you're not a professional critic as it's not a particularly well-written review but even if I saw this as a comment, I'd think the person who wrote it had some sort of hang-up with women.

Nope, it's just obvious that you find her somewhat attractive. Some people on here are just pearl clutching lol
Also nothing suggests misogyny either. It is when you hate or have some issue against women

Haven’t seen this show so can’t comment on the accuracy of it, but I had no issue with anything in it.

Definitely. If this a review of the show she's on then how she looks or the size or color of her eyes don't matter. To be fair, this isn’t an audiobook and she didn’t get the role by auditioning on The Voice. A lot of thought and deliberation goes into casting decisions, and I would dispute anyone who says those things don’t matter. I’ll even bring the hair, makeup, and wardrobe departments to the podium with me.
