A little over a week ago nostalgia got the better of me after weeks of seeing those retro look Pizza Hut commercials with Craig Robinson playing Pac-man.
So I got a $10 Tastemaker with sausage, shrooms and onions and some garlic wings. The pizza was ok or mediocre I woudn't say good.
Little Caesar's and Cousin Vinny's have much better budget pizzas for cheaper. When I want an excellent pizza I spring for the pretty expensive super cheese with everyting from Marion's. (and their ham & sauerkraut one too)
Last night my cousin stopped by for a few minutes and asked if I wanted some pizza. I said no as I had already had supper. Fried pork chops, red beans & rice and oven roasted cauliflower. 😄
When he leaves he gives me a pizza box from his truck and says he doesn't want the leftovers, take it anyway for later so I do.
It's a Speedway box. I know he practically lives off Speedway and fast food burger joints. I knew you could get slices there, I never knew they sell a whole pizza pie. I don't get gas at Speedway and I've been inside one exactly twice in six years to make myself a big gulp.
Anyway, I warmed up a slice in the microwave just now even though the air fryer does not sog up the crust, I didn't want to have to wash it later.
Pepp and a surprising amount of cheese. To get right to the poinf, it was very good. It was better than Pizza Hut's. I couldn't believe it. I'm going to ask my cousin how much a whole pie costs.
I still won't be trying any gas station hot dogs or burritos but yeah..a damn gas station pie out pizzas The Hut. By far.

I have a place where I live that has better pizza than half of the regular pizza places. Even if it's "just as good" it's 60% cheaper.
They have 10 different varieties and most are really good. They're not cooked but it's like 10-15 minutes. For me they're around 7 or 8 bucks.

I’ve had most things from gas stations. Pizza, hot dogs, hamburgers, burritos. They’re all usually varying degrees of edible. I’d take a frozen pizza over an overpriced pizza shop most days.

That sounds like the sequel to Ice Station Zebra.

That sounds like the sequel to Ice Station Zebra. Where Rock Hudson has to secure oil rights in Arabia on behalf of Exxon?

Welp, since I can't eat dairy (including cheese) that rules out most commercial pizza parlors for me. I don't mind, though, since we have a place not too far away called Vegan Pizza--which describes only some of what they serve. Ravioli, calzones, and--duh!--pizza. Also some absolutely faboo desserts-- everything in the restaurant being completely vegan: no meat, no fish, no eggs, and (most important for my family) NO DAIRY. And it's delicious!

I don't know if "faboo" was a typo but it sure is a great new word. I hope it catches on. What a dynamic slang term! Wanna go vegan, middle-eastern food uses a lot of great veggie combinations on/with flat bread. I recommend a falafel sandwich on pita with tahini and harissa. Hummus, baba ghanouj and an herb-topped flat bread called mana 'eesh with tahini and evoo rolled into it. Just be sure not to eat the paper.

Wonderful subs, though. my daughter works for Walt Disney World as a biologist, llan she gets off work late and WaWa is one of the only places open at that hour. She loves the sandwiches. In Orlando they have pizza. We don't have them out here in California

Hate to admit it, but I can't claim credit for "faboo"--in fact, I'm not even sure that I spelled it correctly. It may be "fabu." Either way, it's short for "fabulous."
