Does it work? I think it does so beautifully. Need to say I havent really watched Naruto-like maybe 2 episodes

It's cute.
One problem with goofing on an anime intro, though, is that the intro generally showcases a high level of visual flair and technical skill because it's meant to get you amped up even if the show itself has no ability to keep that level of quality. It's too time consuming and expensive and doing an anime series is probably one of the most demanding fields to work in as it is. Studios will sometimes even shop out the intro to another company and focus on working on the show.
In anime, the intro is essentially "sakuga" or a well-animated set piece in which a lot of time and resources were spent to make it look awesome.
Here, the problem is that these shots weren't made for that purpose so it feels very off. Like I said, cute though, and some effort went into it.
That said, here is the intro to a fan-made Spongebob Squarepants anime:

I think Man of Steel works pretty well as an Anime opening.
All the comparisons from Goku and Superman. The action, everyone says Snyder makes perfect live action Anime looking films.
