'The Uncanny' (1977) is a spooky compendium of killer cat stories co-produced by Rene Dupont, Claude Heroux and Milton Subotsky of Amicus Studios. There are three fiendish tales directed by Denis Heroux which are cloaked by a wraparound story set in Montreal, Canada in 1977, in which Wilbur Gray (Peter Cushing) desperately strives to convince wealthy publisher Frank Richards (Ray Milland) that cats are evil. Ray Milland

For a while, I was semi-obsessed with cats, and so the idea of this movie appealed to me. However, since it was so long ago that I watched it on TV, my memories of it are extremely vague.
**spoilers if you haven't watched the movie**
I think there was a woman who was fed on by her cats, wasn’t there? And I’m pretty sure Peter Cushing didn’t end up winning in the end.
But the part I remember most is the story with the girl and her cat named Wellington (I remember this clearest of all – as the name was uttered over a dozen times), whose mean cousin tormented her and poor Wellington, then somehow she got shrunk down to itty-bitty size and stepped on. Her mum walked in, looked down and was like, “Bleh, what a mess.” and wiped it up, none the wiser.
