The infamous I Spit On Your Grave was never in Leonard Maltin's Movie Guide Book. Could it be that Maltin found it to be just so reprehensible that he deemed it not worthy of having an entry in his book? That would be my guess.
The remake, which was equally raw and brutal if not more so, was also not in the book.

The remake fixed what I disliked about the original. We didn’t need a 40 minute rape sequence to get the point across. 10 minutes will do. Lol I also thought the kills in the remake were thought out more and symbolic to how each man tortured her.

It's possible. A lot of people hated that movie.

It's possible. A lot of people hated that movie. Especially Roger Ebert.

I doubt very much if he ever saw either one. The original was considered very shocking at the time, still is.

But if Last House On The Left (also shocking at the time and still is) can get an entry in his book, I don't see how ISPYG can be denied. You would think that maybe one of Maltin's editors would do a review.

I can see his face turn to digust at the thought of this one. I thought the rape went on too long, but the remake was much better and less seedy.

Another good example is Night Of The Creeps; that one never appeared in any edition of Maltin's book.
