Sure, why not? I am the token black guy. I'm just supposed to smile and stay out of the conversation and say things like: "Damn," "Shit," and "That is whack."

Yes that’s how every black character was before 2020. Lol That was a quote from NOT ANOTHER TEEN MOVIE, actually. I should point out that it came out in 2001.

This sort of thing isn't exactly new though. Like i remember in the 80's when they wouldn't make some episodes of the ray bradbury theater because they lacked diversity.

Meh. I doubt the scripts are that great. Otherwise they’d just sub out some of the white characters for minorities or whatever.

Other scripts that were rejected: * White working woman with a sassy black co-worker who says things like, "Ooh girl, you gotta find yourself a REAL man". * Group of white dudes who have one black friend who uses a "street name", and around whom they suddenly refer to each other as "dog" a lot. * White family with a Latinx maid who says things like, "I am very goat to meet you" because she can't speak English too good. No, but seriously, that's what Hollywood thought "diversity" was for many years. The fact that you think they STILL do that in movies and shows is just fucking stupid!!! Have you been living under a fucking rock for the past years doofus? In Nobody the main character has a black brother who does not act like a FUCKING THING like you just mentioned!!! This is why I can’t stand leftists!!! Before you say anything I’m independent!!! Me: thinking back to just a few years ago when that Lena Dunham show got into not water after season 1 had no minority leads, and the only minority roles in the season 2 casting calls were for menacing gangbangers and sassy co-workers.

Yes. Every movie that had black characters was like that until 2020. Lmao Interesting... Why did you single out 2020 of all years? So dwarfs don't watch TV because there are no primetime shows catering to the under 4 foot tall crowd? Wow... I can't tell if you're this patronizing because you hate anyone who looks different or because you're just insecure. And for that matter, black people have been represented for 50 years, they've been cops, doctors, lawyers, teachers, millionaires, judges, so we can start rejecting black scripts too. This is the 2nd time you've used an extremist counterargument (claiming that something either is or isn't true only if every single case is the same). It shows that you're not interested in having a real conversation about the topic. You just want to vent and make sure others agree with you. That goes against what these forums are for.
It's not so extreme. You have regularly seen black people in movies and TV everywhere for over 50 years, but how many dwarfs get representation? How many Lebanese? How many Swedes? How many Bangladesh? How many people with only 1 leg? Or a 3rd breast? Or the people who grow 7 feet tall? Or the people with size 24 feet? These are the unrepresented, they all need their own TV shows and movies.

No, but seriously, that's what Hollywood thought "diversity" was for many years. Dude quit using “latinx”. They hate that shit!!! As a Latinx person, I don't hate it. It's a useful term due to the fact that spanish is a gendered language. Rather than simply use "Latino" when referring to all Hispanic people regardless of gender or taking the extra time to write both Latino/Latina, Latinx is a nice little trick. However, since I did say it was a maid, which generally implies a woman, I suppose I could have used Latina.
